I do not want to risk my account. Is there a list of A-Net approved 3rd party apps? If not - I will wait for the devs. You will wait a while. The devs won't respond to this thread.

They have never been that way. If you've been with us for longer you should have known that. They do it their own way. The result is a game that has been refreshing and renewing the genre. It was Arenanet that started the titles and achievement system. The first without monthly fees and still presented a big game where you can spent a lifetime online. The first to say goodbye to the trinity. Etc. > > To be innovative you need trial and error. It means they constantly try to improve the release schedule. > > > > All that Chaos theory though, as we've seen usually delivers mixed results. Doing things on the back of a whim isn't always the most organized of professional business models. I do wonder if you were to give us a vote if we would pick the path more commonly treaded if it meant subscriptions, trinity gameplay, but also meant 25 more fractals, 10 more raid wings, 30 more legendaries, ongoing dungeons and 5 more expansions meaning 5 more elites per profession by now and nobody needing to be fired in 2019. I confess the latter seems appealing... But then GW2 would be very similar to every other MMO on the market. If that's what people want, then they should simply pony up their sub fees on those games and play them. Personally, I would quit GW2 if it moved to a sub model and I know a lot of others who would as well. Even if it meant a content stream that you suggest.

The history has shown however, that they are capable of making the most rudimentary mistakes when _interpreting_ said metrics. Like it happened in the infamous Twilight Armor Forward Up path case (and, later Twilight Assault one). > > Basically, the metrics can show them the trends, but there's nothing in there telling them the _reasons_ behind those trends. > > I agree. I was arguing the point that it was because of the "first sign of dislike" since we can't know that.
  5. Speculation is that we might see this in the expansion. Also, this has been requested a lot. Please use the forums search feature.

Agreed. Hard no on this suggestion.

I think that failed. And I also think it was/is a failure how Anet tried to push/force players, that do not like this kind of content, into Strikes. Agreed. I think it was an incorrect assumption that including raids/strikes would pull players in from other games. From what I've read/heard, these content types weren't received very well. I think that it was a mistake for Anet to make GW2 into something it's not. IMO, they should have stuck with what worked and put resources into making that content better.

Wow has followed the format for years but that didnt stop them from doing things like the Mage tower in legion or Torghast in shadowlands. Cannot compare GW2 to FF14 or WoW. They are entirely different business models.

I looked in the wiki and there its says something about Path of Fire... but if I look more close I see that it was added in Episode 6 of Living World Season 4, War Eternal, which was released May 2019. Sorry for that miss information. > I still wonder why ANet does not create these skins - they would sell. And I do not think that this is a lot of work (expensive), because they just need to adapt the skins & effects to a new 3D model. Sounds for me like a few days workd for a designer... If they did create them, they would probably be premium skins at 2000gems. And it's probably a lot more work than we realize.

Yet another chapter of living story released without a strike mission that prepares players for raids. I thought the goal was to give people a clear path to raiding content? That is what you claimed back at the beginning of the Icebrood Saga. This is why I questioned it several posts back. I didn't understand the expectation and disappointment when it was never said that a strike mission would be released with every chapter. Perhaps I read too much into your complaint. If so, then sorry for the confusion.

This is 10-player content against challenging bosses and are meant to be an easier stepping stone to raids. This comes with a Public Mode where anyone looking to go for the same boss as you in the map will be put in the same squad, which should allow for more organisation as you tackle open world content together. " > > Unfortunately I can't find the official link atm, but here is a review website if you wanna read about it in detail. > http://virtuallyinterrupted.com/the-icebrood-saga-announcement-summary/ Thanks, again. Where does it state that there will be a strike mission released with each and every chapter? That is what I am trying to find out.

  14. There are many threads already about this. Anet isn't going to add translations. For more information, please use the forums search function to read the existing threads on the topic.
  15. > @"SleepingDragon.6054" said: > > @"kharmin.7683" said: > > So, you're saying that the game is dying? > > In a game that is free to play (just bear in mind that it used to be pre-paid content), overpricing cosmetic garbage I think does reflect poorly. I get only the impression that ANet just want to make money out of me, not that they're so passionate about their game that they appraise it too highly, as if they're innocently ignorant. There's so much unappealing cosmetic/utility kitten on the store that I can't help but feel like if they poured that development time into more functional content—as we've all seen that they can pull off flawlessly—then it would give a lot of the prices some meaning. I don't want a will they/won't they situation when it comes to expansions, either—I want to see evidence of a hard roadmap that they'll follow through to the end. So, I get it. In your opinion of the way things are in your view that yes the game is dying. Practically everything you're saying here is personal preference and not fact. And that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. >What they're doing right now is clinging to what's left of the game, banking heavily on the new expansion that until a good few months ago wasn't going to happen, when they were laying staff off. Layoffs were never about GW2. I really wish people would remember history and stop repeating this false pretense. >When they do finally stop releasing major updates, the BLTC will still remain, perhaps with the odd few additions, waiting to sap more money out of those who want to keep the game running. And if the prices don't remain the same when that happens, then they'll be even more ridiculous. Pure conjecture and speculation. Neither of us knows if this will happen or not. Also, any pricing is subjective. Clearly enough players don't object to the current state of things or else Anet wouldn't price their cosmetics as they have. > If you want to see some evidence of this, then look at the predecessor game. Take from this what you will, though. I think the message is there though and is very clear. Evidence of what, exactly? The game dying or Anet sapping more money out of those who want to keep the game running?
  16. > @"dace.8019" said: > I can't agree harder with the OP. The first thing I do when contemplating gem store (or any mtx) purchase is compare the value to the game itself. While almost nothing looks good in this light (which helps maintain a degree of prudence) when something looks particularly egregious I can't buy it. Like costing the same as the game or an expansion for a skin or effect. It reflects badly on the company because I wonder "Do they think I'm a sucker?" and that perception about a business asking me for money is bad for that business. And I do spend money on Gem store here and there, so ANet aren't all bad on this front but they do have some items in there that are, frankly, a rip-off. I don't find that it reflects poorly on a company that provides a game that is free to play. Some of the more pricey items in the gem store are equivalent to a month or two of another game's subscription. When looked at things in this light, I find the pricing to be very fair, especially for cosmetic adds to the game which are in no way required to play. Now, personally, I do make the value judgement on items in the gem store, but that's my own perception on a case-by-case basis.

  18. Make it more realistic? Take away all magic and all non-human races. Remove all creatures that aren't currently found IRL. Character death is irrecoverable.

As we've mentioned before and you've likely noticed, strike missions are getting harder. Once a full suite of strike missions is complete there should be a graceful ramp up to the existing raid content rather than the imposing leap that previously existed, and our hope is once that ramp is in place, the number of players participating in raids will go up. In addition to that, we're striving to make improvements to Strike Missions themselves to make grouping easier, and to improve the rewards. We hope this will help introduce more people to 10-person content, which will in turn increase the number of people interested in Raids. Thanks. My point was that I didn't recall ANet saying that each LS chapter would have a strike mission which was inferred by this post: > @"Delita Silverburg.8632" said: > 5. 20. I guess the term "toxic" means "doesn't interact with me" because that's pretty much all we've been hearing
