Casino coins: essentially useless

Recommended Posts

I use them to buy the green unopened gear item. Each time I do the blitz I wind up getting anywhere from maybe 50 s to 2 gold worth of stuff from them.

How is that nothing? I use the exotics you occasionally get to salvage for dark matter, which I find useful.

So you have the option of buying cosmetics, exchanging for xp, or trading for saleable goods - and that's not good enough?

Maybe read the rest of the chain - especially the part where I mention it's fine for XP, if there was a Use All option.

Malibu Barbie Dressup, as you put it, is a big part of the end game. Coins are easy to get. The rewards are exactly what they're supposed to be.

In fact, I would argue those are easier, since you don't have to wait for an event to spawn to get them.

I mean, honestly, how many dyes recipes and food do you need options for?

Great, so we understand each other ... there isn't anything to complain about here.

Man, people can be patronising. Must be the general tense, stressful feeling going on south of the border lately. Sure, I can complain. I think the coins clutter things up and are difficult to get rid of without a lot of clicking - or simply destroying them. Or I could buy a swooshy kite...oooo. Just give me a Use All and then there won't be anything to complain about.

Sure for you that's true. It's not the same for everyone else. So if they are useless to you, just delete them and move on ... or maybe not pick them up in the first place and solve your problem yourself without assuming the game should be about you. Not everything in an MMO can please every player. Unless the border you are talking about is Quebec, it's got nothing to do with my political persuasion. I'm just recognizing it's silly to complain that you don't like something in an MMO that's not crafted to cater to your exact desires.

If you don't pick up the coins in the first place, you'd have nothing to complain about.

Would be alot of characters just to hold those 100k coins mate.

That is true, the average player could probably not spare 400 inventory slots! :D

Fixable via some kind of middle currency - 100 Casino Coins for a Golden Casino Coin (or whatever), 1000 Golden Casino Coins to buy the infusion. (Numbers tweakable, of course)

Sounds more like they do nothing for You. Not they are 'essentially useless' as people have pointed out several useful things for them, just not things that you want out of them. There is a difference.

Honestly it's a short fun event to do that has a rare drop chance, if you don't want to do the event because the rewards aren't worth it for you, I think you've found your answer.

Sigh. That's my point. I do the event for the rare drop. Then I have a crap ton of coins that I have to click through many, many times to either buy Unid greens or consume for xp. One...at...a...time. So...useless. Anet should provide a Use All option. Or trade in so many for x number of UnId items (right now, it's what - 20 per Unid green?) - so if you have a thousand Casino Coins you have to click on the green item 50 times. That's crazy. So, at the trader, they should have 1 Unid Green for 20, 10 for 200, 50 for 1000. Something like that. Otherwise, they're just these things sitting in your inventory for little to no reason (unless you are into kites, etc).

Theres a button on the bottom right of the merchant where you can select how many unidentified gears you want. You can mass buy them in bulk, with only 2 clicks, if you have enough coins.

That's awesome! Thanks. Have no idea how I never knew that was there!

Np, its on almost every merchant. You can also click the number and type the exact amount you want so you dont have to hold the ^ arrow for ages. Hope this solves your issue with casino coins.

Yeah, starting to come to that conclusion. Getting bored with WvW - maybe the alliance system will make it more interesting - not sure though. And I haven't tried sPvP - maybe I should give that a try. The lackluster rewards and infuriating RNG (been playing several years, and have had one precursor drop - a pistol) are driving me nuts. "Hey, you killed a dragon! Here's some goop and a couple of green pieces of armor!" Ugh.

Look at zaitafy and jorbreakers. 1000 zaitafy for 1 jorbreaker, 100 jorbreakers for wings backpack. The only problem with this system was that the random drop rate for the wings was way too high to justify going the jorbreakers route.
