  1. I can't seem to figure out what to do to get this event started.

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Join_Elizia_Skysight_as_she_takes_the_fight_to_the_chak_in_their_nearby_hive

Twice I've helped a canon motorcycle thing make it up a hill and then when it's over, Eliza goes back to the camp, but then should something happen after that? Also tried helping with SCAR lane in the TD meta, and never saw the super goopy something something.

I'm trying to get the Champion Chak Hunter achievement done. It's the last thing I need to kill on the list, and the last one on the list (extra goopy chak lobber).

Update: I got it solved. Just didn't wait long enough for it to advance.

  2. Also something like [this](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/574456/#Comment_574456) might be helpful in determining the order to train the masteries.

There are some better detailed guides for a good order to train the mounts in PoF, but I apparently forgot to bookmark it.

Wait! [Found it](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/151694/#Comment_151694)! Question I asked back in the day that was answered regarding a good order to finish up from where I was at. I think it follows the general "don't train any 4s until 3s are done", but had a more specific order.

  3. Knowing all that, I wouldn't mind the ability to change my base weight class. Maybe I'm a guardian and would like to wear light weight looking armor, I could change my weight class (if I took all my armor off), and then it only let me put armor back on if it was re-skinned using the light weight class. If I changed my mind down the road, I could repeat the process. Take everything off, change my weight class back to heavy, put armor back on once I re-skin it all to heavy.

I know the original request might have been to be able to mix-n-match, but it occurred to me this might be something interesting in lieu of that.

That's good to know. For some reason, there's just something wrong with Lorna's Pass though. I walk away with nothing so many times there. I've recently started skipping that zone, and it's been a much better experience since.

  5. The not getting credit thing for the stampedes is getting old. I skip Lorna's Pass at this point, as it seems to be the worse offender, but I'm staring at 3/10 right now and I'm pretty sure that should be 4, even after skipping LP.

  6. Interesting. I guess when I did it way back when, there was always something about three, or I had thought. Maybe that just had to do with how it was done back then, maybe wanting to get the timing just right.

Actually nice to see it works with just 2, because it seems like that’s a far more common way to do it now. I had just assumed it wasn’t working when that happened. Thanks for clearing it up!

  7. I don't need it any more, but I saw some overly excited people when we did it twice (it was way dead before a 3rd could ever happen), and wondered if they had changed it so StD was achievable with any number of 'not taking flights'? I asked in map chat, but no one responded.

Come to think of it, I responded in map chat that the collection was completed, and then saw them go over and check themselves. I'm starting to wonder if I can talk in map chat. :(

  8. Little late to the discussion, as it takes me awhile to work my way through these, but almost there! I'm down to just needing to craft all the Stormcaller weapons. I've made 5 of them so far. Once they are done, I'll have the meta complete! I might be short on the Charged Lodestones for the core, but found if I take the crafting material coffers when they come up in the repeatable 'Glory' rotations, they have a good chance at giving me some lodestones, so maybe making one every day or two, I'll have what I need by the end (I think I could make them all now but 2 with my own materials).

Appreciated I didn't have to do the strike. Kinda wishing they through in a step for completing every single one of the special assignments as a possible option, that took a bit of time, but minor quibble. Was a bit nervous about being able to pull off Purrfect Escape, as the mobs before the big boss killed me pretty good the first time through, but saw I could replay from 'just' the escape, which was great because I could just repeat that step, and it didn't split focus between having to worry about the first part of the fight, and then concentrate each time on the run. I managed to do it on my 5th or 6th try.

And for some reason, this episode I realized I have 'no' idea how to read what rewards are given at what tiers for achievements. I thought I had my head around that, but was not getting things when I thought I would, and getting things 'before' I thought I would (like /playdead was an early pleasant surprise).

Really enjoying the map. Hope it 'sticks' for some people and groups continue to run it.

  9. If you don't have a Runecrafters (I don't), and just have the Silver and Copper, what should you do then? Should I get a Runecrafters?

I have always struggled with using the Silver on greens myself. I finally came down on using the Copper when my 'Alts' are salving blues and greens, using the Silver on 70+ rares, but my main still uses the Silver to salvage greens, even though it costs me some of my profit. Worse now that ectos are starting to drop in price (presumably temporarily).

  10. I think it would be nice if you had to use the supplied bombs to damage the tower itself. I was alone once when it started, and joined shortly after by one other person, and we both used the bombs and sprint and hide skills to do it, and it seemed pretty fun. Having said that, I have stood at the tower waiting for the 'encrypted message' event to end at the Mines (always seems to start right after that event) and used an EMP on it (even after this morning's patch) as soon as the mobs dropped and than ran and dodged out of the way and hid as others came and did the same and in a few short seconds the tower was down. I have one more to do, and I'm going to at least 'start' that way, even if I'm the only one there at the time, because otherwise you miss out on getting it. The first few times I tried it I came running down the little hill with my bomb and the tower blew up before I got it there. :/

I'll have to try that, thanks.

You can drop while downed? Does it just revive you in the air with a parachute?

  13. I think more than power creep, Living World has brought a slow increase in cooperative competition in PvE, which might as well be PVP. It's frustrating. 'Pillaging' is a great example of this.

    2012

    1. Shared resource nodes.

    2. Shared loot.

    3. Shared experience.

    2020

    1. Pillaging.

Having said that, other than Competitive PvE, I do very much like the new map.

  14. Sadly, the EMP thing dropping in doesn't work so well when you are alone, and there is a (incoming hyperbole) 7 min wind up to cast it and (more hyperbole) 10 min cool down, and (one last time) 5,000 things are killing you while you try to do it. :(

  15. C, but with all mounts. I use them all with mixed degree depending on the situation. I probably use the tele-dog and rolly ball the least, with the tele-dog being used slightly more than the rolly ball. The rolly ball is for goofing and racing, which I just don't find myself doing all that much.

I would say in the newer maps I use the skyscale the most, but sometimes if I want to get across a section of map the fastest and I'm already up high enough or can get there quickly, and know I don't need additional elevation through the path, I'll switch to the griffon and wind up a speed dive before leveling off.

In the old world, if I decide to use a mount, it's usually the raptor, but I mostly just run around on foot still. I still enjoy being old world in the old world. In some cases, I'll take my time getting to vistas and such while map completing (which I still love to do), but admit I will sometimes cheat with a mount.
