They are quick to act on anything that involves words. Call someone a F or a R and things blow up, instant action is taken. report someone for actually cheating and ruining the game, nothing is done for months and months on end.
  2. Combo's need to be redesigned. So many redundant combo effects that arent even worth using. The only ones that may have some use today are: Light blast, Water blast Water leap Fire Blast Smoke Blast The rest are really underwelming. Fire blast is also rather questionable since you can get 25 might without using blasts in todays age. Imo blasts should do extra dammage and an effect based on what combo it was. Picture this, you hit a light field, you cause damage and blind. You hit a dark field, you cause damage and weakness. The current system is ok... if it was 2013, but its not 2013 anymore.

And there's no system in game for Anet to flag an account as one that was banned for hacking at some point. To me I find this quite funny, I'm going to assume they don't perma ban cheaters because they think if they let them play again down the line they will give them money. Cheaters will never pay for things other than the cheat software, so why give them the chance to play again?

You'll be wishing you got another weapon as they will not change the way you play warrior in the slightest. > > While I largely agree with the rest on principle, this (and a similar statement earlier in your post, I disagree with. There's one role you haven't considered - melee support. May not be something you care for yourself, but it is something that others have proposed. Melee support could be rolled out with any of the weapons. However in the current possition of warrior, having another melee weapon will not bring anything new to the table that really changes the playstyle of the warrior which is different from the current weapons it has access to. Realistically a support spec should be mid ranged, this allows the user to have a good clear view of the battle, who needs help, who needs to be attacked. In many ways you can argue we already do have a 'melee support' with the current getup of shoutbreaker. But from a weapon only standpoint ( as i honestly have no clue to what skills they will give the class ) Pistol is the weapon which will change the way the class is played the most, which is what the class needs. Which means in PvP you'll never know if the warrior is going to be in your face or mid ranged (Mid range being 900, the standard for pistol), It will give the class a semi sort of unpredictability to how they will play. We shall see how Anet rolls this out, but with the track record of Dragon Response Missions and last years Feb patch... I do not have very high hopes anymore.
  5. Don't forget Anet has hinted elite specs before and still does. There are many heavy armoured Charr and Norn NPC's using Pistol Pistol. This screams elite spec hint to me. I commited to Pistol for warrior quite a while back now. I honestly believe this is the weapon the Warrior will get, which is why I crafted HOPE for the day this goes live. To much screams that Pistol is the weapon. The weapon fulfils what the warrior has lacked for years. It provides a viable support weapon that isnt in the face of combat but mid line and providing support, be it shouts, banners or new skills. It provides a much larger choice of weapon combinations once again, we may see an end to axe shield for PvP as an example. I can not see many reasons why the warrior should get a staff or 'spear'. The only role that weapon would fulfil is 2h Condition damage... and oh boy we do NOT need that in the game. (Condition damage in my view is a very very boring play style). If its not melee and its ranged... what will it do that rifle doesnt already do? Or longbow to boot. Also forget the concept that they will make a 2h weapon 1h, you can be rest assured that Anet can not physically change the code on this weapon to do so, due to the limitations of the engine. Short bow, please see reason above relating to rifle and longbow. As for scepter, Can not see this even being remotely viable for warrior due to a massive lack of skins suited for melee or ranged physical combat. Focus, is possible as a 1h melee... BUT! What will this bring that is new to the warrior? Axe does physical, dagger does physical and CC, mace does physical debuff and CC, sword does physical and condition damage. I would only expect to see warrior get this weapon once it has all of its damage types present. So... this is why I strongly believe warrior is getting pistol as their next elite spec weapon. As for skills, warrior currently lacks an ability to summon minions, gadgets/kits/turrets(deployables), the warrior can not use traps (please dont be traps, some of the most boring skills are traps (very cheap to use in pvp too)). The big skill type to me for warrior would be deployables and minions as these would change the way the class is played to an extent. However this being said, knowing Anet they will flip the table over and make a brand new skill type that doesnt have a single rune set for it... Like they did with Rage skills and Preperations for thief. Time will tell what weapon the warrior will get, mark my words on this however, if for any reason warrior does get staff / spear. You'll be wishing you got another weapon as they will not change the way you play warrior in the slightest.
  6. Sadly the rise in cheaters isnt exclusive to just Gw2. Realworld punishments should be put into the terms and conditions for the act of cheating tbh. This and only this will stop people from cheating. Make it financial. Get caught, get fined. All game companies go under the basis that you get caught, you get banned. The banned user creates a new account and cheats again. Nothing stops the cheater with this method.
  7. Another forum topic that is once again asking for the wrong weapon for warrior. Concept for the cannon would be kinda cool. But lets get real now.. Staff?! really now? As ive said in the many posts ive made about this. What will staff do that Greatsword, Longbow and Rifle doesnt already do? Ask yourself what is the warrior missing? Only one thing should come to mind, one handed ranged weapons! Low and behold, the pistol.

Warrior has and always will have access to the most weapons in the game. Warrior is the ONLY core class in the game that does not have a 1h range weapon. Thus Warrior needs a ranged weapon that has the ability to be mainhand or offhand to put pressure onto the target as a main source of damage or secondary. Javalin? What weapon is going to suit that? Seeing weapons which have 2-3 skins that suit it doesnt sit well in my books. Like the repurposed Staff for melee... its jarring to see and has no good legendary skins for melee use. If we end up getting a scepter mainhand for thowing, what options does that leave you with? Shield offhand? Warhorn, Axe and Sword. At least with Pistol Pistol, you can work around your build you play with, keep axe your mainhand and have that mid range pressure on the offhand. Or go for a 'commander' spec, pistol mainhand, warhorn offhand and use support abilities. I see far more reasons for it to be pistol than it to be any other weapon. (Also please do note that I do not trust Anet to create a fluid throwing animation that looks good... Seriously look at the Elonians throwing spears, its jarring.) Fun Trivia: Engineer was going to be the 3rd heavy weight class. This was going to be a pistol/rifle/shield class using heavy armour. Warriors of real history, used pistols and rifles. So I see no issues with having warrior be the first heavy weight to finally get the weapon it rightfully needs. Will allow some players to play a full range build if they so wish to. But count on this here, If we do get Staff/Scepter, I'll say this now, you will not enjoy using those weapons beyond 1 week.
  9. Thanks Lan, saved me from going on a massive rant on why Staff/Sceptor would bring nothing new to the warrior class. It's going to be pistol for warrior, end of. If its not then a huge mistake was made and we'll end up with another half baked weapon that no one will use after trying it out for a week. (Please see the torch, seriously... why even bother using that weapon?)

  11. Don't forget that Revs skill [True Nature] which comes for free with Assassin stance Herald does up to 4k unblockable damage and remove boons. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112366/can-we-do-something-about-this-massive-oversight In my honest opinion, unblockable stance attacks should not do much damage. They should be designed to either harrass or take you out of a block stance. E.G. picture if the skill kick, was unblockable. This skill would now serve a use as an anti block mechanic. Low damage, due to its unblockable nature. Skills like Shadow shot, True Nature and many others, should not be in this game for the competative nature. I've seen these kinds of skills land for up to 6,000 damage per shot through a shield. As for Break Enchantments, im really on the fence for this skill, its neither impressive or that fun to use, yet it can land in PvE for over 20,000 damage. That being said... that is for PvE where balance doesnt really matter that much (from the regard of open world roaming/meta events). For WvW, you'll remove some boons, Whoopie! They just got reapplied after you removed them. For PvP, same thing applies. They could have made this into a unique skill, causing a new debuff on another, shattering all boons applied for X time. The question then comes, should this do damage with what i said above about unblockables? Simple work around, make it a two strike attack, cause damage on the first wave, then cause the debuff on the second. Shattered boons cause damage in a small AOE, to prevent Gw2's famous horrible play style, stacking as one blob. Also.. when is headbutt going to get a rework... 50% more damage with stability. With the changes they made, they turned a released game into Beta, while also refusing to fix them for the last year.
  12. I wish people would stop trying to defend Apple tbh. They are anti consumer, they use very cheap labour to make parts to sell at very high prices.. since they are the only ones making Apple products. Simply put, Apple is like that guy in your guild who leaves the guild and make a new one, asking everyone to join them for a 1000g entry fee and a bizarre set of rules. To little surprise, no one followed them. In many ways I see this split off a good thing, as now the Devs can focus on working out how to get the performance of GW2 decent on PC... Rather than having to split manpower into creating new code for MAC on every single release.

What a batty trailer!!! > > I honestly still can not work out what this trailer was for, or what it was even meant to mean. Spray paint a wall with 'Blue paint' but red comes out, 'our time is now' time for what? Step on some fire with your bare feet, swim in a sunken earth cruise ship and emerge on the other side as a norn with tatts? Like they had an entire game to make the trailer from but they used unrelated footage, with very little connection to the game. I mean they may prove us wrong down the line by giving us Blue red spray paint to use ingame.

If it means anything I stand by this too. When the store had Armour skins, I was loving it. This opened the options up of mixing and matching armours to make that perfect look, a look that no one else has and look good at the same time. Then Anets EA games mindset came along, all about money rather than making items/content players really want/need. (just look at the history of cash shop items added over the last few years... Remember when Legendary weapons were the only flashy weapons?) Sadly outfits success can be pointed at the target audiance, the super casual players who can not be bothered to look through the wardrobe to work out what works together and what does not. (Yes I am going to generalise here for this point.) The casual player is more likely to splash out money to be lazy. I have never paid money for an outfit in the game, be it via gold to gems or gems alone. I have however bought most of the armour skins, sometimes for 1 item out the lot! I do wish however, people would stop defending Anets decision to stop making armour sets. As defending it, justifies it in anets eyes. Imagine if all the outfits we got were armour skins... Just think about how much customisation you could of had over your characters looks. Too many times Ive been let down by seeing some really good armour design on one armour part to then realise its another uncustomisable outfit... I remember when this came out: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Awakened_Zealot_Outfit I saw so many possible combinations that could have been done, ruined by being an outfit. Same with the Monks outfit, so many armour combinations, ruined by being an outfit. If this game only had outfits, then sure defend it all the way, but it doesnt, this game from its core started with armour skins, customisation like you've never seen done before and **developers who loved the game**. (Seriously Id love to be proven wrong on my last point here, ever since the core Developers have left the company... the content and items being sold feels dry and lifeless with an agenda to push.)
  17. Give her the following item: [&AgFWXAAA] She'll be very happy with you regardless of the class she is playing. >! https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Promise_Ring
  18. Knowing anet.. they'll just end up giving every class a trap and claim 'see its fun and balanced now' (I would have typed that in Leet speak but i know my comment would get removed)
  19. So... you want a class that screams obnoxiously every time they swing their sword. A class who thinks they are the strongest after being beaten over and over again. Sadly you cant have the obnoxious screaming, but you can have the get beaten over and over again part!
  20. The one thing I have noticed, the 2000-2014 gamers were the social gamers. They talked, they helped, they had laughs, they were fun. All we are left with is mutes and griefers. I honestly do not understand what has happened to the gaming community of todays age. You sometimes get social interation within gw2, but dont bet your cards on it.

Meerly accepting it because someone says its the only option you have, is also not the right thing to do. This is how we ended up with the EA problem we have within the gaming industry. I can completely understand WP's reaction to active cheaters in the game, as really he was reflecting how a lot of us feel about the game and the way its being handled. If we can not relay this onto the company, then how do we get things changed?

We currently have a system of wing it on patch day for balance. I havent even touched gw2 (other than the occasional log on for a free item) since November. This will probably stay this way till something big is changed and done in the game to address its playability.
