  1. > @"Jski.6180" said: > All classes should have medium armor and medium health its kind of silly that the vary of hp / def is still in the game even though the reason for such effects are long gone as in the old trait point system that had hp def build into it to where some classes would get more from there hp line that where low hp and high hp classes would get a lot less. Does that mean I have to wear the trenchcoat now? Buuut ultimately you are right here, all classes health should be rebalanced to a simular level and their skills/traits balanced around the new medium. the concept worked back in 2013, however lesser so now with the newer additions to the game.
  2. I also played around with a viper build on ranger for a bit with the main intention to never use the pets ![](https://i.imgur.com/H5HAqAF.png "") Every bit of poison you do is 170 health, every 3 seconds is 375 health without having to do a thing. Gains 240 Ferocity from having the axe equiped so despite being vipers, you're doing a high level of power damage while still doing high damage from conditions as well. From what I recall, i barely touched the heal skill.
  3. > @"draxynnic.3719" said: > Healing is a potential use for a support staff. As is protection, for allies or for the warrior. Condi removal. Might can come from traits, but having additional sources could be worthwhile. Fury being on a shout doesn't prevent warrior from having fury on other sources, including weapon skills, and having multiple sources means that you don't need to pack all of them yourself. Depending on the theme of the elite specialisation, other boons may be possible, even the coveted quickness and alacrity. > > And if we're going to make 'for all we know' statements, we can imagine anything. I'm not seeing any justification to your claim that staff will inherently suck just because. And if it turns out you made HOPE prematurely, you'll only have yourself to blame. Protection is a very rare boon for warrior, now the chances of warrior having this boon are very low due to being a heavy armoured high health class, however this is a boon the warrior does lack, which is odd for a 'soldier' class thats meant to be frontline. Might is and always will be really easy to gain on warrior, might is so easy to come by its value has become lesser so. So this boon would actually be a huge dissapointment to get on a weapon. As for Fury, you have the shouts, the elite signet and you also have the greatswords Burst skill (lets face it that weapon is still too good to drop no matter how hard we try to). I am still very confident that the one handed range option is the right one for the next elite spec weapon. It ticks the most boxes of things the warrior can not do, its a far more flexible weapon which will be able to be worked into more builds than a 2h weapon ever will. With the addition to the heavy armoured NPC's using pistol my theory was more or less setting in stone, too much points to this being the weapon, gladly so from my side too, since I am not a fan of a single class that uses the staff skills, every single staff skill feels janky jarring and horrible to use. (on ele the staff is honestly a terrible weapon with outdate 2013 stuff on it. Newer additions to the likes of Thief, the staff feels off when using it, from the animations to the janky Vault skill. I have not found the staff fun to use on a single class, which is my biggest fear if this is the weapon.) By all means, if it is staff when the time comes, tag me in a post and i'll give an honest review. If im surprised by it and its good I'll say and visa versa. From a Lore point, pistol has so much to go by. Forget the whole fan boii 'But Guild Wars 1 had..' stuff, this is Guild Wars 2, where we should be getting new classes based on new things. We're 300 years into the future from Guild Wars 1 days. I can see the lore being set in place of the Charr teaching other warriors to use pistols to survive in harsh new lands allowing them to use new skills/shared skills, for example gadgets, summons or kits as an example. The dangerous thing that many players/people do in this world is look back on things with rose coloured glasses. 'The past was better' they say, till they get someone from the past and realise actually how bad it is (Just look at the UK right now for that Example.). I do hope soon we get some leaks as to what elite specs each class will get, my money is still on the Pistol, I just hope anet pulls through on this expansion all together. What it needs to do is bring in things that are new, refreshing and fun. As for HOPE, its a pistol i've wanted to make since it came out and having an expensive gamble makes it all the more fun. ^^,
  4. Mace 3 could be changed into a lunge attack (like sword 2) on contact the skill causes knockback. (at least then we'd have a difference in Dagger 3 and Mace 3 then).

From the PvP background a ranger is able to put out an insane amount of self sustain through boons that seem to be endless in duration. They are able to do this while still maintaining a source of reliable damage. Warrior by comparison is not able to do so, to have the same sustain the warrior loses all sources of damage (almost becomes a tickle fight). Boons should not be underestimated in this game, there is a huge connection between the hardest to kill and the ones with the most boon uptime. Not to forget Ranger with soulbeast does also have the poison heals trait (Making the ranger stupidly hard to take down in the PvE enviroment). If the class was to be made into a high health class, much of its sustain would need to be chopped away, be it boons, heals or even overall stats (pet or class).

Give the players an option to disable other players infusions before you even think about adding another one to the game! > > I’ll never be able to do that, but kitten that is glorious...!! Its not glorious, it actually drops your FPS massivly just by looking at them. Since this is a CPU game and not a GPU game it's quite taxing, so we need an ability to disable other players visual poo. Options Id accept: Dissable other players infusion effects Dissable other players lengedary Aura effects Dissable other players particle effects I know we do currently have an ability to limit the effects we see on screen at once caused by skills, but we do not have an ability to limit/neutralise the aura's and infusions on other players. With the way this game is going (since anet really doesnt want to change the engine of the game which will allow for better optimisation) This is becoming a must before it becomes worse to play due to low frame rates as time goes on. Too many glowy skins have been added into the game, with every player trying to glow more than the next.

If that is the case then a maximum of 2 skills can be support on a 2h weapon else you'll make a useless weapon with 1-2 attack skils. Then comes the question of what 'support' would this weapon provide? It cant provide might, traits do that. It cant provide Fury, shouts do that. Would it apply regeneration or health? Protection? From my standpoint its better to make a weapon flexable, make it so the support comes from the skills and traits rather than the weapon, which will allow the player to work these weapons into different playstyles. Heck for all we know Anet might be making a new grandmaster trait system that changes all bursts to be power, condi or support depending on what you pick. A lot of players also asked for 2h axe for a long time. I'm still confident that it will be pistol since it fills most of the missing gaps for the warrior. (Never forget that warriors suck vs kiters. You don't take a rifle because you drop sustain for it, however with pistol you can still at least have a shield on you.)

If you get fun out of the game when playing why concern yourself too much about the layoffs which happened quite a while back. SImply put, if you have fun playing, play. If you don't then dont. Nothing lasts for ever, at some point things will always come to an end, so enjoy the things you can. It's up to you how to spend your time, not the players of the game. EDIT: Noticed that you rely on satalite internet, ok I understand.

I honestly can understand everyones reasoning to give the ranger high health. They currently are one of the easiest professions to play, easy to get health back, two attack damage sources and the best downstate skills for sustain. (not to forget they can still command their pet to attack when downed). If anything Ranger should be borderline low health to medium health.
  10. > @"The Fear.3865" said: > They just don't want to give us any chest pieces without coat or buttcape. > > Proof: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Raven_Ceremonial_Garb_(medium) > > >! If you don't get it, try this chest armor on your light, heavy then medium char, and laugh (or cry). I'll never understand why medium gets shafted in every armour piece. Either the armours too bulky to look good (problem on a lot of armour in the game) or is a trench coat with next to no design diversity. Personally across the board Gw2 actually needs more skimpy armours (not the lewd kind you find in other games, but generally armour that just simply covers less, since its easier to work skimpy armour with other armour parts than.... trench coats). I'm going to assume that they decided to make that armour cover the legs as well due to clipping fears of the top to the legs or legs to the top. We may one day start to see armours that work... or better yet reworks on old armours updating them on a new skeleton so armour for all classes gets easier to make... seriously why on earth would you as a game company make different skeletons for each class. They basically made the job harder for themselves.... Or I'm mistaken and that is just an excuse to not allow all classes to use all armour since we have outfits making the light, medium and the heavy armour argument invalid.
  11. In addition to my above post. These are the current classes ingame that could be used as elite spec hints: ![](https://i.imgur.com/Kp4Cf4J.png "") ![](https://i.imgur.com/o6rr3Vo.png "") ![](https://i.imgur.com/M9wdn7S.png "") I know many people do not like the idea of this, however I believe it could function, if on the next Expansion they remove the restriction on weapons. So if you so choose to you could use Dagger and Torch together (some weapons would need to be reworked so they dont rely solely on elite spec traits (E.g. Engineers holo sword) This would also allow players to run a core build with elite weapons, keeping the options open for even more build combinations. This potentially could be something in EoD increasing the players access to weapon types, allowing even classes like Ele to not be gimped on every weapon they get (seriously look at their options, Dagger, Sceptor or sword if traited main hand or Dagger, Focus or Warhorn if traited. Remove that restriction and classes will feel more fluid with their weapons, allowing them to do attack combinations utilising both main hand and offhand weapons. (as lets face it, core weapons are still stuck in 2013).
  12. > @"Tseison.4659" said: > Well, Warriors will almost 99.9% get Staff as their next weapon and will serve as a "lance" or "polearm" because if you've played through Champions in LS, you can see the Champion Watchknights that follow you, using a lance and a spinning ability with it. :/ So if anything you guys will probably get that weapon with aoe damage and mobility like utility skills. *shrugs* Whoa there how did i miss commenting on this statement. Sorry its late in this case. However, we already have the introduction of Heavy armoured Norn with two pistols, Char running around exclusvily in heavy armour and two pistols while giving allies might. This is what I believe is the hint for warriors next elite weapon. (These can be found on the Drizzlewood Coast) This being said... there is another class on Lake Doric a heavy armoured seraph soldier holding... what looks like a 'spaded' spear with what I would describe as the worst animation in the game for an odd spin attack (this is the part people forget, if warrior gets spear it will be the WORST animated weapon in the game.) These spade spear seraph i really hope are just flavour NPC's for that map and not the actual elite spec weapon. This being said for the fact that we have two races now using Pistol Pistol, Pistol is the more likely elite spec weapon, for lore sake its fitting, the charr are opening up to other races, sharing their tech and training. Teaching warriors how to use their weapons (I hope many others can see how it fits to the lore as well as fitting to the class). This is why I believe Pistol is the weapon we will rightfully see. If for some silly reason we get staff/spear... just you wait and watch everyone wish we got a different weapon. If I'm wrong I'll eat a hat. But im confident in what I believe to be right.
  13. If engineer was made to have High Health many of its easy button escapes need to disappear. However many of the medium armour classes would be tricky to balance around High health. Ranger is instantly a no no due to having a pet, Thief can put out high damage and be very hard to hit even once in some instances so they cant have high health. Engineer is an odd one. The class can recover its health very quickly and escape better than most other classes by use of elixers and tonics. So if a class was to gain high health in medium armour, they would need to lose sustain in another area. > @"DeanBB.4268" said: > I always assumed engineer was originally planned to have high health, but by the time Anet finished designing them decided they would be OP. Originally when the game was being made, there were to be 3 heavy classes and 2 medium classes. Yes Engineer was going to be a heavy armour class till they decided to make it Medium armour.

HA! I like your style there. But at least they'd be happy Canthan fish right?
  15. > @"Psycoprophet.8107" said: > spear for warrior, pistol would 100% be useless and a waste of a new weapon guaranteed going by anets past. Answer this, what will the 'spear' or shall i call it staff give the warrior that it cant already do? It has GS for Power It has Hammer for Power CC It has Rifle for power range It has LBow for condi range The only logical role Staff would fill for warrior is 2h melee condi... Personally I find condition damage play the most boring to play. Now as for Pistol, this has the most options going for it, you can work it into power builds, you can work it into condi builds (you have more chance of Pistol working that staff) If warrior gets staff and its clunky, you'll never use it. If warrior gets pistol and you find that mainhand isnt great but off hand is (or visa versa) you still have a functioning weapon. Who knows we might even get combo fields from it. There are more combinations possible with pistol than there ever will be with staff. Forget the idea of land spear, Anet simply wont, or can not code another weapon into the game without breaking the system (if im corrected I'll eat some form of hat). Remember this as well: Warrior has zero access to one handed ranged weapons, the only core class in the game to have zero. Pistol has very few users Pistol has no heavy armour users Pistol Pistol has been seen on Heavy armoured Norn and Charr within the newer maps, Anet has a history of hinting at elite specs before they come out. For all we know this elite spec might actually be called a bounty hunter. Which is rather fitting for a weapons master. We will see who eats what hat when EoD comes out, but im so confident that it is going to be Pistol, I already made HOPE for my warrior. Please see image below. Made on the 7th April 2020. ![](https://i.imgur.com/mL9j90W.png)
  16. I believe I have posted in the past in ways i believe it can function. Pistol, Mace and Hammer are the least used weapons in Gw2 and need to be given to other classes to be used. Providing it fills a role the class can not currently do. Pistol for warrior is perfect as A: first heavy class to get a pistol, B: 1h ranged weapon its never had access to. Hammer could be given to Ranger as an example as well, however the weapon will need to do something special, Could be condition damage melee/debuffer.
  17. Personally I wish the WvW and PvP armour had a real unique look to it, like the PvE armour. beingslightly more shiny and tenticles isnt really 'legendary' A change to the PvP and WvW armours would bring more people in who want that new legendary look. For me personally Id honestly love to see open world PvE areas with Faction based PvP combat in it. So you could align yourself with a faction and fight other players inside that area within the PvE map (optional for those who wish to take part in it... Since I gather there is a lot of super casual players out there who wouldnt lift a finger for the thought of it.) I know this is possible to an extent due to some Maps already having open world PvEvP content (charr bikes) or Guild hall arena's. Fighting mobs will always go the same way due to the limitation of skils and animations. Fighting players however always changes, no two fights are the same (the end might be, but the way the fight progresses changes). Another highly requested feature by many players was the option to Duel, probably will never be seen in the game due to the rather ancient spaghetti code. As for content like WvW, heck make rewards for defending a castle higher than capturing, picture defending the stonemist castle and getting 1-5g after fighting off two factions. WvW lacks an instant reward for taking over a keep, castle or camp. (i'm not including those 'champ bags' as instant reward, since that is for the killing of the boss). Do players need to be incentivised to go into the WvW and PvP game modes? I'd say yes they do (providing the rat lord cheaters and bots can be removed and a decent balance patch bought out.) These game modes are a big thing to many new players, every time I look into an MMORPG I make sure it has a form of PvP be it openworld or instanced PvP, if it doesn't I tend to avoid the game. TLDR: Increase the rewards, Better looking items, encourage defending keeps/forts/castles in WvW for higher rewards than attacking (or equal rewards with a cooldown per keep (e.g. defend the keep get rewarded, cooldown till next reward from this keep 10m)) Create more Exclusive skins for WvW and PvP only, armours, weapons ect. Its time to MTGA

It's sad. > > I've no doubt the tengu will be the same, just suddenly there will be tengu running around a DRM with no real reason other than "hey guys, here's some tengu!" and a line or two about everyone needing to band together something something. I know the Anet team is focusing on EoD but man.... This story has honestly been their worst work to date. Everything is jarring, the voices (Normal talking when about to fight a massive boss "oh wow, its huge" said Braham in a calm soft voice while getting attacked with fire) If the NPC's are going to talk in battle.. make them shout so its fitting to the scene. The copy and paste settings from each DRM mission, they all feel the same other than the last two's final bosses. Then we have the introduction of factions, no build up no grand enterance.. they are just there with no explanation other than, fire bad, we now fight with you. They could have made a solo instance story mission which showed the dwarfs fleeing from the deep while fighting primordus's minions. At least then we'd have some introduction to the dwarves. As others have said... EoD better be worth it.

Due to the nature of non stop bots, they can climb the ranks and a few made it into the plat league. Some matches have had 2 players in them and 8 bots. If you want the footage you have a high chance of finding it on the gw2 reddit page, or on youtube.
  20. I honestly thought that massive Destroyer was going to be a big bad boss who would take some skill and teamwork to take down... nope. just stand behind him, kill his egg and throw a spear every so oftern. I was actualy looking forward to that fight from the first trailer. Admitivly this is going to be a hard balance they can work on. You'll lose players if its too easy, you'll lose players if its too hard. Makes me wish if there was a 3rd option when joining dungeons/strikes/DRM's, a dedicated hard mode where players need to work together with well thought out builds to compliment each other. As for the repeatability of these DRM'S, cut out all the rubbish in the start and the build up to the final boss, all that build up you did in the story mode, I see no reason or need to go through it again and again. For me personally I like games that are punishing, where you die over and over again till you are able to work out what to dodge, when to dodge. As an example when i started out playing a game called Dragons Dogma, there were times where id get rinced, multiple times till I was able to work out what animations i need to look out for and dodge them or block them. After a short while my eyes were zoned in and my deaths then became less and less. This game I found very fun and rewarding (especially early game) as you had to think, learn and adapt, making every fight an achievement that you were happy about. If on the flip side, this game was really easy from the start, I really would not have enjoyed the game as much as I did. A game too easy kills the sense of achivement... Just ... like... that ... Zhaitan... fight... Seriously... what was that...
  21. You know what would be cool though, a dedicated Emote button. Like we have with the mounts, assign 1 emote to the quick slot. This would allow users to quick slot their most commonly used emote, be it rockout, wave, shiver (lul who uses that), ponder and so on. You could be saying hello to the Dungeon party and pressing your emote button to wave. It may be a small thing but i can see it getting some use by some players.
  22. Now all the charr can stretch and rockout together in queensdale!
  23. Hands down, Ranger being one of the easiest to play. You can eat your dinner and still kill mobs with it due to having two damage sources and a secondary target for mobs to attack. Not to forget the 'Oops i messed up... Anyway' button on downed state.
  24. I think we can all sum this one up with 1 word to be fair: 'Content'
  25. Sadly most of the content in this game is painfully easy. Im not going to lie... i struggled to go through the new DRM's due to how easy the fights were. I was fighting my eye lids shutting rather than the mobs. I want a challenge so at least then I can feel like i really beat something. Currently im finishing these DRM's with a 'was that it?' reaction.
