  1. I always avoided Macs anyway because I like building my PC's from scratch. Still, seems odd to me that Apple wouldn't want to provide some support for OpenGL as I'm sure a lot of their users are gamers. I don't know where the money stream flows though so I'm sure they have good reason. Props to Anet for being willing to offer refunds. Very generous. Time for you Mac gamers to convert to PC ?
  2. I'm almost at the point where if I get one I'll destroy it in protest... Okay, that's not true but this is infuriating!
  3. There are good points here as to why the system is fine as is and you have provided really helpful examples on how to experiment with builds cost effectively. I tend to feel the same way as the OP though. The build experimenting process in this game doesn't feel good to me. Arguably they need these gold sinks for the health of the game and I do not have a better way to suggest to replace this gold sink. This is why I have reluctantly decided to be okay with the way it is. I cope with it by letting my gaming buddy know I want to try a new build and need new equipment. The two of us farm together after that to make the grind more fun. I'm one of those people that rarely has more than five gold at any given time though so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
  4. What about our Alliance threads? Are they still on the first page?

It makes sense that modern gamers probably prefer this rendering in game typed chats less used. Honestly though, I have little to no trouble finding people to map chat with in GW2. I am typically online at a time more people are logged in so that may be why.
  6. > @"Danikat.8537" said: > On EU I see people chatting in map chat, and sometimes in say chat. It's definitely more common in cities than in other maps, probably because as other people have said it's hard to type while you're in combat. But people will answer questions or join in a conversation in between doing other things. > > I'm also in two guilds who use in-game guild chat a lot. I know one uses Discord too but I haven't joined it so I'm not sure if they use it for voice chat or text chat outside the game. My previous guild's Discord was 90% text, they only used voice chat during guild missions, but lots of people didn't join because of the annoying music bot. > > Admittedly some maps can be quiet, but it's still an improvement over my very limited experience in WoW during a free trial years ago. It took me about an hour to find another person and all they'd say was "pls leave" (I later found out they had a 'grind spot' and if I was too close the enemies might attack me and then I'd get the XP). When I finally got to a town I was told not to talk unless I was selling something, and new players had nothing worth selling so I shouldn't talk at all. I was later assured that once I got to level 40 or so and joined a guild I'd have a chance to find friendly players, but that experience really didn't encourage me to keep going with the game. > > By contrast in GW2 I often see mentors in starter maps offering to answer any questions players have and giving instructions on how to whisper them, and how free players can add friends so they can whisper more people. Is that really how WoW is?? What a terrible community. By that review GW2 is light years better.

  9. Isn't there a golem in the home instance that lets you change music? Something like that would be nice for guild halls. It could be updated easily once implemented. Just add tabs for new music add ons. I second the OP.
  10. And let's put this back where it belongs. The top!
  11. Add an infusion version that is free to the players that unlocked it already. That is the easiest way to satisfy this suggestion unless they simply keep saying no.
  12. My wish for 2021 is that my kids continue to get more and more into the game. I see a lot of wishes for old problems to be fixed but I have to say, you barely notice that stuff when your kids are playing. For those that get the opportunity to play GW2 with any kid (my friends play GW2 with mine too) do not pass it up. I have never had more fun or laughed so hard playing any game without my kids. I hope you all get your wishes and whether you do or don't, try gaming with your kid or a friend's kids. It's a whole new layer of fun. Just be patient while they learn. That part can be stressful lol. Mine are 6 and 8 for reference. I can't speak for other ages. Also, I'm on the Cantha train. Choo choo!
  13. I find LW more enjoyable when I take an alt through it. When I play newly released episodes I hate reaching the end because I know I will be waiting to continue the story. That is the nature of the beast though. It is also why I have so many alts lol. It is definitely not a flop for me.

I am sure this helps make the GW2 market busy and keeps end game players interested and coming back for more. You can have such rewards at certain boss fights or chest. Legendary rune sound fun too Are the legendary runes and sigils level 80?

That's why the idea of being transparent with the drop rates isn't useful. If anything, people would MISUSE that information to complain they should have gotten something because 'math' or that the rates are too low. This is absolutely true. People would make thier own decision about what amount of keys would gaurantee the drop they want and when RNG decides otherwise they would lose thier minds and demand compensation.
  16. I think the guild tag would be a nice touch but also completely unnecessary. I fully agree with changing the duration to 10 minutes though.

It makes me feel better that I still can't afford it... > > I would honestly glady gift you mine free of charge if i could !!!! Since I haven't used it after 1 hour of crafting it, I've so many decent shoulder skins that I lose at the expense of the aurora and for me the skins heavily outweigh no shoulder skin + a few snowflakes by 100%. Save your gold for something better ! Very kind. I want it for a winter themed character that doesn't need shoulder armor for the look. Some of these cosmetics in this game are really expensive. I feel like titles should be the grindy content not looks.
  18. Less expensive, not cheap. But thanks for your perspective. It makes me feel better that I still can't afford it...
  19. For the cost involved in getting it now it should be an infusion ?
