I do not use Longbows or Greatswords because they are so slow to me. Hammers are a combination of a slow and ugly weapon lol. I'll do a side vote of off-hand sword. Wouldn't be against that for Rangers at some point, I'd just prefer Thieves get an offhand sword first/too.

I do wonder, though, if part of the problem is viewing all of these things through a moral lens. Or maybe the problem is viewing things through a relativistic lens.
  3. Because I've been given no reason to think that the Spirits of the Wild are evil, they've done nothing or said nothing to make me think this is the case.
  4. Don't tell me you're on this "the Spirits Are EEEEEEVIL" bit too.
  5. > @"Hypnowulf.7403" Citation needed on this repeated but never substantiated claim of "the Spirits of the Wild eat children". And you're going to have to do better than Vilnia Shadowsong as nothing in her event shows that she is literally feeding those kids to Raven. But even in the off chance this were the case with Vilnia, thats still only _Raven_ , its doesn't prove that **All** of the Spirits do. They aren't a monolith. You have provided no proof that the Spirits are any more evil than your precious Jormag. And you are **still** attacking so-called neurotypical people, making these prejudiced and spurious statements as if they were fact. We'd likely take what you say more seriously if you didn't compulsively take your anger out on people that aren't like you.

Although I do question why leave the whole gender thing for the Elder Dragons so convoluted. Why is Jormag suddenly a they and what not, when Primordus, Zhaitan, Mordremoth and Karkatorrik are pretty much implied to be males? I don't get it. Humans gods have genders, the spirits of the wild clrearly identify as something...Only the Eternal Alchemy and the Dream, _2 concepts_ are obviously not entities to have a gender. > > > > I suppose Jormag is special. > > > > I think it's because Jormag identifies as nonbinary, and is talkative enough they we _know_ they identify as nonbinary. Aurene and Glint identified as female, Kralkatorrik and Vlast as male, Primordus isn't talking so we're just assuming that Jormag knows what they're talking about when calling Primordus "he". Mordremoth and Zhaitan... I think there are references to their minions calling them by masculine pronouns, but I'm not completely sure off the top of my head, and even if they did, they might have got it wrong like the Sons of Svanir did. Not inclined to think the Risen and Mordrem got it wrong like the Sons did, don't forget that the Sons aren't proper dragon minions.

She's dying, so there's not much direction they can go after that... Well, there is the fourth path....Anet forgets that story thread like they've done so many times before and nothing happens to Taimi.

  12. > @"Touchme.1097" said: > The writers could have done a better job with Primordius giving him a decent personality. In other games story fire is the element of purity, cleanse, rebirth. It's not just chaos and destruction like the elder dragons represents. I call this wasted potential and I hope they can do a better job addressing the personality of the water dragon, because water in this game is the element of healing and cleansing, so S. can have all the rights to be a good elder dragon who is not interested in waging war against his brothers. Purity, cleansing, and rebirth, eh? I mean, sure maybe in a couple of games that might be a thing, but for most games Fire IS destruction and Primordus has been the True Destroyer since 2007 as the first Elder Dragon we were introduced to. Him _not_ being evil was never going to be a thing. All of the original Elder Dragons are antagonists, only Aurene is the exception, at least until we can get some more replacements for the others. The DSD has already been shown to be violent as it is what drove the karka, quaggan, and krait from their original home....waters....up towards Tyria.
  13. Gunna be frank, I hate the idea of Taimi "transferring" herself into a golem. Like, really hate it. Which means its probably going to happen.

Kama should be an axe skin at least tbh > > Daggers can be made to be held with a normal grip as seen in https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reaper_of_Souls *THAT* dagger is held in a normal grip (and one or two others) but nearly all other daggers are reverse grip, there isn't an option to change that.
  15. Pretty much what other people have mentioned already, the achievements give me something I want, an item, a mastery point, a title, etc. I do _kinda_ like to see my total achievement points go up, but generally its not something I put a lot of effort into. Again, its usually to get something else.
  16. > @"The Boz.2038" said: > > @"Dadnir.5038" said: > > Scepter isn't "anti-thematic" with thief. If you want an anti-thematic weapons for thief, you got greatsword and hammer that are fine examples since they are considered "heavy weapons" not befitting of a profession whose thematic lean on being "agile and stealthy". GW's assassin, whom thief seem to be the successor, had quite an array of spell/curse/enchantment making a spell casting e-spec a possibility. > It goes even further than that; Assassins were often dual-classed into a caster profession (commonly Elementalist or Monk) to give their fast attacks access to "your attacks deal +X additional element damage" spells, and would then use a scepter or staff as a weapon switch option for ranged (often with an energy-hide loadout). The glut of fantasy "arcane thief" stereotypes supports scepters as a weapon option, too. Would rather have the offhand sword for thieves, but I'm more curious about this statement about a "glut of arcane thieves". Where is this a thing? Like, what franchise and the like, I'm genuinely interested.
  17. Wouldn't have been a bad idea as a general concept, and perhaps still possible to a small degree in the fashion Danikat described with the Cauldron or something similar, but its not likely to be as wide spread in EoD and its more or less too late for existing content. I recommend tossing your idea on https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/53097/suggestions-qol-quality-of-life-ideas-merged/p59 , allegedly Arenanet Dev's actually check that thread.

Here's a link to the art piece I'm referencing. Those are DEFINATELY Kurzick buildings. https://media.altchar.com/prod/images/940_530/gm-6bc6bb2d-1336-4e9e-b7c0-bb031a4d0344-kurzicks.jpg > > The Kurzick architecture surviving is not a good cause of belief for their culture surviving. Especially because those cathedrals of theirs were carved _into_ the Echovald Forest trees. The Canthans would have to very literally deforest the entire Echovald Forest in order to remove the old Kurzick architecture, unlike with Luxons which had very temporary structural buildings. > > For similar reasons, the Kaineng City slums are unlikely to have been removed in the 250 years, due to their sheer massive amounts. Conversely I could totally see a lot the old slums of Kaineng collapsing in on themselves and being built over....probably with more slums.

However, I do hope we get to visit more of the centaur homelands, see some of their more peaceful settlements in the Woodland Cascades, and see a conclusion to their war with the humans in the future (maybe in LWS6?). > > > > Press F to doubt on there being any 'more Peaceful Settlements" in the Woodland Cascades. Too close to the Modniir to _not_ get subjugated by them. Only reason there were still peaceful tribes in Dry Top and (formerly) in the Silverwastes is that those regions had been cut off from the other more aggressive tribes. > > It's entirely possible. In the core game, we did see that [at least some centaurs](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Outcast_Qindova) were realizing the war was a pointless endevour. With Ulgoth's death, the Modniir's grip would weaken, and with Caudecus no longer giving them opportunities via white mantle-ran-bandits, their opportunity for success would lower more. > > So we could easily see some Efram-esque individuals popping up among the Harathi and Tamini, as those two tibes, while hating humans, were forced into the escalated war by the Modniir and particularly Ulgoth. > > It would have been interesting to see the repercussions of Ulgoth's death and the Bloodstone-Crazed addictions among the Harathi... Perhaps if the Modniir's dominion over the other tribes is collapsing, otherwise I just don't see the Modniir's letting any _groups_ of Centaurs within their reach to be allowed to not serve as part of their war effort. Individuals like Qindova perhaps (whatever happened to him?) and I suppose its vaguely possible for a handful to do so, though I'd still say it'd be more likely if said groups were _not_ anywhere near the Woodlands.
