That's partly because of the charr size of course. > > > > And now i realize i forgot the 4th "no preference" option. > > In general, I like medium sized weapons. But.... I'd like weapons to a have fixed size. Right now, you can have a weapon, nicely sized on your Charr or Norn, that just is tiny on an Asura, while it would have looked awesome on an Asura if it had been the same size as on that Charr or Norn. > You mean like if a norn is carrying a 7 foot long sword it should stay 7 feet if an asura picks it up? Yeesh.

I do find it vexing, however, that they never move beyond it. > > I mean, even though I want to see Primordus redeemed—I'd be the first to notice that Primordus is flaying people and burning them alive. I'd also be the first to notice that he's targeting the most vulnerable settlements to cause as much suffering and death as possible. That was covered fairly well in one DRM. We also know that Jormag is by far the less powerful of the two as that's been stated repeatedly as well. > > I mean, what Jormag did at Lake Doric was obviously out of desperation—no denying that—but they didn't actually kill anyone. And we saw at the end of Jormag Rising that they can free people from ice without harming them. If Primordus had taken Lake Doric, there would've been many lives lost as there have been in other DRMs. > > Yet Primordus is the innocent one—scared of Jormag? I mean, really Draxynnic? Really? You can take being a poster-child for the neurotypical worship of psychopathy too far. Again, I want Primordus to be redeemed but to claim that they're the victim here is insanity. And you take your constant use of a _video_ _game_ _forum_ to espouse your hatred of so called neurotypicals your own socio-political ideology too far. Where do you come off calling Drax or anyone else here "worshipers of psychopathy" when you've been cheering for a Dragon's whose main power is manipulation for the last couple of years? How do you even know that anyone here is a so called "neurotypical"? Despite your attributing that term to me in a past disagreement the fact is that I myself am not a neurotypical, so I don't think you're able to objectively tell if Drax or anyone else here is or isn't. Cite your sources, where has it been stated that Jormag is significantly less powerful than Primordus, much less "by far less powerful"? How do you know that Jormag attacking Lake Doric was "out of desperation"? And where does Drax claim that Primordus is an innocent victim? I saw neither of those words used by anyone else here.
  3. European servers already exists, if that's what you're asking for.

Playfully goofing around with Aurene my ass, Jormag has been _Gaslighting_ Aurene, emotionally manipulating her and borderline a mentally abusing her. Repeatedly cutting down self-esteem, making her doubt herself and her beliefs and her friends, and occasionally throwing out complements to try to keep Aurene dependent on Jormag. Reminds me of the villain from that Rapunzel movie Disney made some ten years ago, the one that pretended to be Rapunzel's mother. Its telling that for all the times you call out people on this forum on in game for being "Toxic", your own biases towards Jormag have prevented you from seeing what clearly and blatantly toxic behavior from the Ice Dragon. > @"Svennis.3852" said: > > @"Randulf.7614" said: > > I'm slightly concerned that the "Dragons must no die" seems to have been forgotten by every character in the game. We seem to be leaning towards killing one or both, but no real discussions on the consequences > > Yes, this has been the biggest issue with Champions for me. I care less about the other issues, and more about this jarring shift in the lore/plot. Even if they wanted to retcon the drive behind the last several years of story, the fact no one’s dwelling on “the balance is fake” is shocking. I’m hoping it comes down to Jormag’s persuasion magic having indoctrinated us somewhat to be more accepting, but at this point... I don’t know. Can’t tell if it’s intentional or not. > > Next episode *is* called Balance though, so perhaps we’ll get more. Can’t help but think that title is more indicative of the “balance” between Jormag and Primordus though, as was mentioned in such a heavy handed way during this Power release. I've been hoping quite desperately that this comment about the balance being an illusion was just more of Jormag's bullshit, cause that is one retcon that Anet can _not_ be allowed to get away with. It quite literally renders the entire quest to make Aurene an elder dragon pointless, as well as the battle against Balthazar (well, accept that whole killing innocent people to turn them into Forged bit, kinda needed to stop that). Frankly I have no expectations of how this LS season will end other than that it'll probably be really disappointing.
  5. Medium to Large-ish. It depends a great deal on the design its self. I find damn near all of the scepters to be badly designed: they're often too short, too bulbous at the end, and too often indistinguishable from maces. I'd been using the same scepter for my elementalist for almost eight years (classic Pact scepter) because it was pretty much exactly what I think most scepters should have as their general size and shape. My opinion is much the same about one handed sword, or arming swords as they're call historically. Even as far back as GW1 I felt that they were making arming swords just a little too short, and after a few years of watching Shadiversity's videos on swords this has only been reinforced. Swords are supposed to give you reach and the arming swords of this game don't as often do that, though I will say that they aren't as bad as the above mentioned scepters, I have a much easier time finding one handed sword that I like.
  6. Didn't even write out what this unnecessary trait line would actually do. Hard pass.
  7. The Telegraph didn't seem off to me, I saw it coming each time and have manged to not get hit by it so far.

I believe they already stated way before (I can't remember the source, maybe someone can provide it?) that not all releases of Icebrood Saga will feature maps and that some of the later episodes would be similar to LS season 1. They've managed to put out full episodes without making a full map in the past, however they aren't managing to do that now, not with the last two releases. DRMs are not a substitute for making a full episode and their comparison to LS1 isn't accurate as the update rate back then was once every _two_ _weeks_ as opposed to once every two or three (or more) months.

Feels like a hell of a lot more than just Champions got scraped, more like half of IBS, but that's an aside.
  11. They can't even make full episodes for IBS anymore, not going to bet money on a Guild hall from it (though a Eye of the North based guild hall is something I've wanted since....well, Eye of the North).

But slowly over the years we have seen more and more Destroyers, culminating with them flooding the entire maps of Ember Bay and Draconis Mons prior to putting Primordus to sleep. This is even commented on several times in those campaigns. > > Primordus was always a serious threat, it was just never expected the Dwarves would lose their battle. The amount of Destroyers in Tyria was formerly very small compared to all the Branded, Icebrood and Risen. It certainly seemed that way for the longest time, though I don't think anyone from either the player base of the characters genuinely thought that the dwarves were going to hold out for forever, but Anet randomly tossing in a bunch of dwarves for the first time (other than Ogden and the guy thats only a head) seems to put a wrench in that, or at least it feels like it does. There's also the change in tactics, focusing on targets that are comparatively more heavily populated.

  16. I wouldn't bet on it. The change you saw *might* be a genuine technical error that *might* have to do with how they designed and render the stone dwarves.

That's....terrible. I hope the writers and Anet aren't so incompetent as to kill off Aurene (AGAIN) after years of setting her up as a Allied Elder Dragon.
  18. ![](https://i.imgur.com/4Yb4GL2.gif "") Didn't even know the cap was that high. And someone trying and succeeding to reach that cap just blows my mind.
  19. Hadn't really noticed it before. Its not so much annoying as it is...baffling. It sounds kinda like a hollow ball or something rattling around. How does that match a lightning sword attack?
  20. I'm not a fan of "Mini-Episodes" for LS, and making the DRMs the majority of said mini-episodes feels cheap and *very* unsatisfying, especially after months of waiting.
  21. More an more this game makes me feel like a battered wife. "They promised it'll be good content this time, I just know they've changed." The story ideas were sound, a Charr civil war was a good idea, going deeper into Norn lore was a good idea, making a haunted map was...sorta a good idea. The current iteration of Arenanet just can't seem to competently implement on any of these ideas, and further more can't seem to competently write half the characters either (the character assassination of Smolder being the most grievous example). It makes me very worried for EoD. If they screw up Cantha I might have to give up on this game for good.
  22. The bit about the commander having blackouts and Drakkar and such isn't bad, but _RYTLOCK_ randomly becoming Jormag's champion is a terrible idea.
  23. > @"Vancho.8750" said: > I'm about to say some DIRTY WORDS . > GUILD WARS 1 MOBILE PORT. > I know, I know its terrible word this 'mobile' but GW 1 would fit right in there and I think my phone is already passing the recommended specks for PC CPU SPEED: 2 GHz RAM: 1 GB. There is actually allot of old PC games that are cool that made it to the android store Neverwinter nights, Baldur's gate , GTA. Also for some reason these instanced pseudo MMORPGs seem to be really hip and pop these days. Arenanet wanted to be on the mobile market and for some reason they didnt port their already proven game there, shooting fish in a barrel basically. Please. God. No.
  24. I agree with Randulf that the Factions theme isn't as iconic as the other GW1 themes, but it's still quite beautiful and frankly preferable to the random ambient noises the character screen current has.

Yeah, Southsun's placement on the map is awkward but just because you don't like certain content doesn't mean that it shouldn't exists. I rather like Southsun. > > > > > > The dev's removed most of the npcs and content in the second living story update. There is actually zero content on the left of the island. I've been around GW2 just as long and I do remember the changes Southsun has gone through since its release in November of 2012. Its changed but its not been "Gutted", the majority of the events it started with are still there. > > I think Terrack is referring to the removal of the Settler vs Consortium content from Secret of Southsun / Last Stand at Southsun after May 2013. 17 events were added for the duration of those four weeks, but only 7 were kept (three being "altered" (aka replaced by near identical events)), specifically those involved with the Karka Queen meta were kept; there were dozens of NPCs added, and almost all of them removed. In addition, one event was removed entirely, and another (a patrol) was gated to behind player count rather than always present. > > Southsun Cove would be far more interesting if those 10 events were never removed. But we can say the same for all Season 1 content. > > The Lost Shores' ending did remove a handful of events in Southsun, but also added a handful as well. namely, those removed were about establishing a base in Southsun Cove - something that would have had been removed with Secret of Southsun Cove anyways (it **was** barren between The Lost Shores and Secret of Southsun, admittedly). Most events removed weren't in Southsun Cove, but were involved in "phase 1" of The Lost Shores (quaggan rescue, largos escort, elixer making, karka invasion repelling, etc.) and were more story-focused. If ANet ever brings back Season 1 in a serious manner, I imagine most events from The Lost Shores would be more likely to be turned into micro story instances instead of returning as events. I don't dispute any of this, I remember most of it. But I think my point still stands, Terrack was being unnecessarily hyperbolic to the point of dishonesty, the majority of the content in Southsun has remained over the years, it has not been "gutted".
