  1. Because its the Black Lion Weapon Sets, they pretty much use the same structure with different effects layered over the top.

They for sure mixed the kodan with other things to make them more unique but there are clearly some aspects of them influenced/inspired by real life inuit and native people. Inuit != Dakota While they share a common ancestry they are THOUSANDS of years removed from each other, they are distinct peoples with distinct cultures beliefs and _language_ . It annoys me to no end, as someone with Cherokee heritage, how a lot of people, including those who profess to be 'woke', can't figure out that the Native Americans (and Canadian Aboriginals) are all different peoples but instead clump them all together.

  6. I know that Shadiversity would have a conniption over something like this...but then again he'd have a conniption 98% of all weapons and armors in GW2. So don't tell him. Personally I'm too worn out from repeated disappointments to care much about this one right now. Edit: > @"Vyr.9387" said: > the beautiful pommel ending rightly this wondrous masterpiece! I see what you did there.
  7. Why does this need to be a thing? It'd be understandable if this game used things like health and energy potions, but with the way consumables work in this game with effects (mostly) lasting half an hour or longer seems to make dedicated slots not worth the time and effort for the devs.
  8. Making Aurene the single Elder Dragon that's somehow able to hold balance all six's powers and position in the All is quite frankly _terrible_ story telling. I man, Aurene's already skirting the edges of being a Mary-Sue, just the edges mind you!- but going all the way would just cheapen and maybe outright kill the entire Elder Dragon storyline. Thats not the kind of story telling we need _or_ deserve.
  9. > @"Ayrilana.1396" said: > " is a human from Winterknell Shore" is probably where they got the Orr part from Didn't see that the first time for some reason...but how could she actually be _from_ Orr? This character is an adult and Orr was shown in season 3 to still be unfit for human habitation, or any other race for that matter. How could someone be born and raised in a land completely dominated by an Elder Dragon and flooded with its minions? None of that makes sense.

People are already criticising the recent releases for rushing through dialogue and plot points too quickly as some kind of tick box exercise. If Centaurs suddnely became an allied faction, then that would really give fuel to that. > > > > > > When I saw them in the trailer, I had expected them to be more of a flavour in a map out that way. Something to give a map a bit of extra layering instead of fully focussed on just the icebrood. But, that never came to pass. > > > > Well that's not exactly correct. A lot of centaur are warmongers but others are more peaceful. The different centaur tribes have very different philosophy and some of the tribes do value peace. We met a friend tribe back in drytop. I wouldn't think centaur changing their attitudes would be any different from the flame legion suddenly being the most noble char legion in IBS. > > That’s why I specifically mentioned Krytan Centaurs who have yet to show any tolerance or tendencies to peace unlike their Maguuma cousins > > As for the Dry Top ones, they are wiped out and it’s unclear what tribes even exist elsewhere given their species was seriously under threat from all sources and devastated by war > > An alliance could work, but not without set up and there are no known peaceful tribes yet introduced When did the Dry Top centaurs get wiped out? Are you thinking of the ones that used to live in the Silverwastes?
  11. Can't say that I know of any others, only knew of Nethry and even she's probably not pure-blooded Orrian, her dialog suggests its only on her mother's side. Not sure about Suriel, her wiki page says nothing about being Orrian, where do you get that she is?
  12. > @"Ayrilana.1396" said: > It should remain in core Tyria for those that are F2P or don't have the new expansion. The citizens of Tyria should also be able to celebrate it as well without having to go to Cantha. That's not saying that Anet couldn't do something special in Cantha for the festivals after it's released. Given that they haven't added a city instance since 2012, and every city since has been on an open map, it's very unlikely that they'll change direction for Cantha. It's "possible" but I just don't see it happening. Without a city instance, it's unlikely those without the expansion will be able to participate. Leaving it in DR is also low effort for Anet as the assets are already in place leaving them more time to focus on other projects. As much as I'd like the nostalgia of doing the Lunar event in Shing Jea, you're probably correct...though, the campaign for GW1 _were_ buy to play just the like the expansions are. Though, that reminds me, need to check into GW1 to see if the old Lunar event is up yet....

That's not what I'm.....G_d dam it. I'm saying we wanted the Statue to LORE wise to still be Primordus, we argued FOR Elder Dragons being able to change shape in order for the current design and the old design to still represent the same being. I've been around a while, I'm well aware that there was, for both better and for worse, a shift in art style between the to games.

  16. Kinda want to make some kinda GameStonk joke but nothing clever is coming to me atm.
  17. There probably isn't much of a Lore reason imo, its likely either (as already mentioned) not wanting to over use the Inquest, an oversight where they forgot to put in the Inquest, or they just don't have room in the narrative for them currently. But if your really need a lore reason I suppose that perhaps after the loss of Rata Primus , who knows how many Inquest turning into Awakened by Joko, as well as multiple major and minor defeats by the players base and the main cast over the years that maybe the Inquest is circling the wagons right now and sitting this one out while they recuperate.
  18. Why? Do you have any reason, any basis why Mai Trin would be Dwayna or do you just make this stuff up completely randomly?
  19. > @"Fueki.4753" said: > I doubt there have ever been plans for an Abaddon fractal. > I still suspect the vote was just for show anyway and Arenanet already decided for Kiel to win beforehand. This is my suspicion as well, and Randulf's above post about Anet admitting that they didn't have the Abaddon fractal planned out greatly corroborates that suspicion.
  20. At this point no, I don't think so. The vote between Cardboard Kiel and Evon Gnashblade was _years_ ago, during the the first season of the Living Story. If there was any chance Anet might change their mind and make the fractal. Frankly I don't think they ever wanted to for some reason. They seemed to go out of their way to make Evon seem like a asshole back during the vote (and even more so afterward) while Cardboard Kiel had no flaws. And that's assuming the vote was real (please nobody bring up a certain real world vote, this has nothing to do with that) Anet probably could just say whoever they wanted to win. Sorry if that got tinfoilly, I admit that I am still salty about getting that Thrumalnova-whatever fractal instead of an Abaddon one. Contributed to my eventual abandoning of doing fractals almost entirely.

Then again, this revelation has not yet appeared in game where several characters still believe Jormag to be a liar, so it remains to be seen when and how it gets addressed. :) > > > > But Jormag could still be lying about everything else but loving and protecting Tyria (is how I understand the quote). Oh, Jormag cares about Tyria, kinda the way someone cares about their home or land. It just doesn't give to flying fucks about all the people that live in Tyria.
