In my posting there is not a single word stating he is a bad player. The posting is about the situations he uses as examples for the builds to work. These are low skill level situations on the opponents side. The only thing I could criticize here regarding him is why you would pick bad players as opponents to demonstrate a build. That doesn't make sense and to me this would be wasted time for the production of the video. Sure the tone is harsh, but think about the bigger picture: tons of bronze division skill level players jumped on the nerf train after he made that minion master video, even though minion master is trash - without any doubt. He was basically provoking nerf demands for things that are already trash on necro. Now it's the same with scepter/dagger and power core necro (both is not viable). S/D is the worst you can run on necro and producing videos that cherrypick situations where it worked somehow, sends the wrong message to the devs and the community. If you honestly care about necro, then you don't do this.
  2. Silver Division opponents... the 1v2 situations at far at foefire were already facepalm, but then the teef at the end of the video... why on earth did he facetank you on the capture point? 3. When your GPU is not at 99%, then you are either CPU bound, your ram is full or you use a frame limiter/vsync - simple as that. In contrast your overal CPU usage means nothing. If you have 4 cores/threads and one core is at 100% and the other 3 are at 0%, then your CPU usage is 25% but you are CPU bound as this one core will limit the rest of your CPU. The app mack posted will pre-cache draw calls, when you load a map, which the game normally does on the fly (this for example causes stutters when you turn your character for 180 degrees). The pre-caching will free some CPU resources in a few areas. It will not lower the CPU demands of the game in general. The game isn't just limited by draw calls. The sheer amount of computation in highly populated areas is demanding for every CPU. In these areas the game will utilize up to 6 cores at 100% usage even without d912pxy. So when people tell you the game is single threaded, the engine sucks and dx12 would do miracles - don't believe that nonsense.
  4. Of course a gap closer is ten times better than a pull, because a pull is way easier to counter/avoid. You counter a pull with a dodge. To counter a gap closer you have to reposition yourself, wich is a much bigger effort (exception: dash teef). Having to even mention this is ... weird. That's really trivial.
  5. Core guard has decent mobility since forever now. GS+Sword/X and meditations is 4 leaps/teleports at low cooldowns (10s, 12s, 40s, 40s untraited). Add speed rune + "retreat" and it is in the same spot like reaper: More mobile than you would expect, but still far behind any other class using speed rune, because their mobility skills are clunky and situational. And the worst of it: they have this one build option for that competitive mobility, which sucks in a rock/paper/scissors game. Strip the swiftness (half of the classes can do that, so in a team fight of competent players a swiftness strip is basically guaranteed) off a core guard or reaper and watch him getting rekt. Btw.: The balancing (*) isn't that bad currently. It's maybe 5 builds in pvp (!) that are problematic (that's fewer than ever before). And that's what is absolutely not understandable: very few issues, but not even these get adressed in a whole year. E.g. immob druid is so dumb, that it shouldn't have lasted longer than one week in the game. (*) I am talking about balancing in terms of overpowered outliers. The balancing in terms of viable build options is as bad as it has ever been.

He doesn't have swiftness that would allow Speed Runes to benefit, though I would agree Speed Runes needs to go from PvP, they're a pretty toxic mechanic to deal with. > > > > I mean, EVERYONE has access to them, so there's no unfair advantage. I think what you meant is that YOU don't want to deal with anyone who can outrun you when you chose not to use those runes. > > Nah, you're forcing down your assumption to me. Speed Runes grants free damage avoidance to almost every single melee attacks in the game by merely holding W away from someone for an undefined amount of time. I'm able to accept that they're toxic and not properly tuned to exist as they are right now, I know this because I "USED" them many times before. 50 or even 40 percent increase is way more reasonable than it's current state outpacing every single utility in the game but Superspeed itself. > > Having something accessible by everyone doesn't mean that it's balanced, in fact that's like saying that everyone should just play the strongest build in the game and never look anywhere else. It's feature being this strong AND exclusive is actually the problem. I want to see the rune removed too, even though I am using it excessively, because necro isn't balanced without it currently. And this has to be adressed the same patch the rune is annihilated. The mobility and chill/cripple removal capability of other classes is way to high for the damage left after feb25/2020 a necro can apply when it is at range. If you play reaper and you need 5 seconds to kill your target at melee range facetanking your damage, then you won't cut it anymore if everyone has the capability to kite you. Wurm and walk are 100% defensive tools. You can not re-engage a kiting target with both. Their mechanic does prevent exactly this.

This is a teleport hack. Bad internet looks different. When someone has bad internet, then he slows down or moves in a straight line and then teleports the distance he could have travelled in this time with normal movement: position sync with server > connection lost (server has to guess what the player does) > next position sync with server > player is teleported to the actual position. The moment you see someone speed up, it's a hack. And that necro does speed up.
  8. I like the idea. Nerf every class, you see a player with, using a mobility hack. This could lead to interesting results. Balancing can't get more random as it is currently, anyway. (Looking for hacks for my teef now...)

I did showcase to him how shitty any non-speed rune + speed of shadows reaper build is against any ranger build he brings to the table for one evening in wvw and he is still on his agenda. I guess it's hopeless. He just wants a free-win against players that are clearly on a higher skill level than him. 95% of the nerf cries in this forum are delusional players. I've seen so many of them ingame and what skill level they truely are. And the loudest nerf crying players are usually the ones playing the broken fotm builds at the same time.
  10. Spite Curses Power Reaper pushes any bunker or support off the node in seconds, because it has lots of currupts, almost 100% crit chance and burst. The drawback of it is being weak to cc and having a very low swiftness uptime (reason for both: no speed of shadows). So almost nobody plays it. But for such a specific purpose, it is pretty much the best you can run.
  11. > @"Bazsi.2734" said: > None of the elite specs break the core restrictions on classes that give them their flavour. There is no mobility king necro without rune of speed, there is no stealthy boi DH without rune of the trapper. It's these runes which completely eliminate weaknesses a class absolutely should have. However if these runes can acutally stay the way they are... then you are actually right, however only relating to necro and guardian. The rest of the classes do not get runesets which completely negate one of their core weakness. > Try speccing your thief into a team healer, try making a stealth elementalist etc... if these things are impossible, why is stealth guardian and zoom-zoom necro a thing? Either all or none of them should exist. I'd prefere the latter. That whole text makes no sense. Every class can pick speed rune and every class with traps can benefit from trapper rune. Fun fact: trevor plays a class that can use traps and that can benefit from trapper rune. So his class is the one that comes closer to thief than dh ever could, as it has more mobility than dh and traps on top. The only reason reaper has to pick speed rune is because not picking it is an instant loss to any other class that picks it. That rune hardcounters reaper. So if you say the rune is bad because reaper becomes too mobile with it: every other class becomes even more mobile with it! Reaper relies on chill to keep the target at range. Speed rune nullifies chill. Speaking about class weaknesses: What is the ranger class weakness? It has range, it has mobility, it has stealth, it has blocks and invulns, it has strong melee aoe, it has stability, it has acess to all important pvp boons in the game. Maybe we should actually add a weakness to ranger before we continue with dh and reaper at this point? The video shows a glass canon soulbeast - despite being unaware - surviving an extremely aggressive burst from a trapper dh and then even winning the duell (he would have killed the dh if he actually tried but he preferred to play it safe and disengage). All this video proves is that the poster doesn't like a specific mechanic, but not at all that this mechanic is overpowered.
  12. > @"fluffdragon.1523" said: > And, as @"Infusion.7149" mentioned, consider using the DX12 proxy layer or dropping in [DXVK](https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases) into the "bin" folder of your client (these are files d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll under the x64 folder). The latter will make use of Vulkan and provide similar functionality, and is what's used by a number of linux gamers (as well as Steam, for allowing compatibility on linux systems). It's a bit more complex than "Use d912pxy! It just works!". It depends on why your framerate tanks. There are two possible scenarios for massive cpu drops: 1) Draw calls, like heart of the mists or lions arch, where no fighting is going on, but lots of objects (players) are rendered on the screen. Here d912pxy will massively improve fps. I see up to 100% (2x) performance increases in these scenarios on my pc with d912pxy. 2) Then there are the heavy computation scenarios like zerg fights in wvw. You won't get one single additional fps with d912pxy in these scenarios, because this is not a draw call (=dx9 api) limitation, but a computation limitation and only a better cpu will increase your performance. That's basically what most people don't understand and can't separate. They run d912pxy, then go to hotm, see improvements and transfrom this to the rest of the game without actually testing it. Btw.: gpu bound scenarios will get a big performance hit, when using d912pxy - that's even mentioned in the documentation of it and I can confirm this. Just use the ingame supersampling or VSR/DSR in the driver to become gpu bound with a mid class gpu and you suddenly lose performance with d912pxy.
  13. You have to be extremely bad at the game to lose to a minion master. Classic low skill floor + low skill ceiling build. Picked by bad players to defeat other bad players. Welcome to silver division! Super easy to exploit its weaknesses (crappy AI, no stun breaks, no mobility ... to name a few). Can be beaten by a one-handed monkey.
  14. 3700X with 3600 CL16 ram, reflections off, shadows off, effect lod on, everything else maxxed out, no (!) d912pxy Basically never below 30 fps in zerg fights (~100 fps at solo roaming). A 5600X will be slightly faster. That's the upper end of the spectrum. You don't have to invest in a more expensive cpu as more cores won't improve anything in the game. The game isn't that demanding for an mmo. Which mmo with a 100+ player (at one spot!) mass combat mechanic doesn't murder CPUs? There doesn't exist one!
  15. > @"Strider Pj.2193" said: > If you only like EBG, maybe you should transfer to Mag. Otherwise, either tank your matchup to avoid them, or, and here is a better solution, work with your server to own their BL as they won’t defend it at the expense of EBG and push them out of your tier. > @"ArchonWing.9480" said: > I mean, sure, Red BL kinda sucks, but if you're limiting yourself to 1/3 of WvW, that's not the game's problem either. I was not talking about myself. I like red borderland (it's alpine that sucks!). I am not getting spawnfarmed. And what is Mag? (I know, it's some NA server I couldn't care less about as I play in EU) But I am aware of the issues other players (or THE average player) have in the game mode and I have no interest in other people leaving the game. The player base is ridiculously low. And two big reasons for that are the lack of QoL improvements and questionable design, e.g. giving gank squads opportunities to do their thing.
  16. > @"Ragnar.4257" said: > I mean, I don' t disagree that trapper rune needs to go. > > But this clip, shows you able to 1-shot a guy from ranged, and then able to face-tank a full unload of a burn-DH's burst and walk out of it just fine while the DH barely escapes with 10% HP. That's called bias. A lot of players in the game have the opinion that they are that good that they should have a counter to everything. That's not how the game works. There is no apex predator and having the tools to escape an unfavored situation is already some kind of counter if you look at the bigger picture of the match.
  17. So the conclusion is: Trevor played too much GW2 and is now punished for it by the game as he has to carry the unexperienced ones. Great stuff, if you want to get away from the game.
  18. Everyone knows them... all these 500mmr above hardcarry necros never ending up at least top50 at the end of the season. Life is unfair, esp. to necros. The other day I carried sindrener on his underpowered teef to top3, but no one noticed.
  19. Exactly what I expected. A "wtf is a dodge?" reaper facetanking all you throw at him and you barely outsustain him. Great build! It is only outshined by your 480p video resolution.
  20. The 3 exits on EBG are not an argument, because spawn camping is usually a result of snowballing. This means you don't have any structure you can move to after you left the exit and it is quite eay to chase you down by the campers. So the only real workaround (I don't call that solution, because being forced to leave the map to be able to enjoy some basic gameplay is not acceptable) is switching to a borderland. Unfortunately all borderlands are inferior in design to EBG. So it's no surprise, when people just log out and never come back.

The only way is screen capture, wich is annoying. > **Can anyone successfully capture GW2.exe with d912pxy + GShade trough OBS ?** OBS has several conflict issues. The one you are experiencing might just be another one. https://obsproject.com/wiki/Known-Conflicts
  22. Everything below legendary or at least stat swappable ascended (like the wvw trinkets) is not fully geared. What do you do with your fully geared exotic berserker guard, when you want to play healer? Or can we call the more than 100g of costs for ascended gear stat changes fully geared? I don't think so. I have one fully geared character. This means legendary armor and trinkets and each weapon this character can use as a legendary. With one exception: my underwater weapons are not legendary.
  23. Is this discussion getting somewehere? Looks a bit like going round in circles. Stating the obvious: - Teef has no fight presence, because it trades it for mobility. Hit and run is class design. You can always escape but your pressure is limited. No one can escape from you. Two elite specs didn't change that, even though they could have, if anet was actually trying. - Necro is the opposite. It trades mobility for fight presence. Facetanking damage while still being a threat is class design. You can never escape but your pressure is insane. Everyone can escape from you. Two elite specs didn't change that, even though they could have, if anet was actually trying. All the other classes are somewhere in between. But go on folks! I didn't want to interrupt you.
  24. Dropping the game eventually (the devs responsible for the competitive modes lost every credit they had over the years). Chances are good, as covid and home office might end and social life might raise again this year.
  25. Earliest memory is a balancing state that has never been achieved again since then. Things like high, risk high reward and low risk, low reward existed while even at high risk, high reward build fights you had actually time to make decisions as the pacing wasn't absurdly high because cooldowns did matter.
