  1. Hi there, I'm on NA too. People still go to the PoF maps, particularly when there are metas (Casino/pinata in Crystal Oasis) and dailies. There will be heaps of mesmers when that happens, so it's easiest to get them on daily day. However, the one in the tetrahedron in Crystal Oasis, while only a commune, is a PITA because of the mob density and aoe damage. That one is easiest tackled if someone is doing the legendary bounty - they're taking down mobs around that boss so the path is clearer immediately post-bounty. Ask in map chat! There are some easy commune mastery points across the maps where the main problem is mob respawn time. There are guilds that run HP trains, and I have combo HP/mastery point trains as well. Yeehaw Shenanigans, in particular, I see running trains. That said, the main source of mastery points for PoF is doing the story.

All these players are playing this before doing Champions. For the rest, it ain't really farmable (1x a day thing as you need its currencies which only drop from dailies) and they may have set the bar too high as well. This all excluding the "its utterly boring and one can spend his/her time more fun in the same game" bit. I'm one of those players who waited. My non-guild related activities in the game were getting the story done, as well as chasing some achievements from previous episodes. My motivation was to unlock the mastery tracks, as I still do the DWC meta every day or so, and I wanted the xp to count towards masteries. I did the Rata Sum event and it wasn't particularly interesting for me. Coming to GW2 from WoW cataclysm, I hated that expansion because of what it did to some of the maps. We've already gone through major map changes in places like LA, and I find the maps less interesting after the change (e.g. the original LA was great with all the x,y,z paths, now it's pretty much one flat map).

You already have my address associated with my account. There is a local Uber Eats.

A random skin occasionally is fun, but the game seems to know that the Beetle is the mount I use the least since I get so many Beetle skins. We've swapped our rng luck. I have never received a beetle skin.
  6. In my small sample size, the reason people have given me for not doing Serpent's Ire is that the reward-to-time ratio is too small. Basically you do a relatively long event, and the rewards you get for doing it are underwhelming. It's also punishing for a low number of players because of the time limit to find the zealots. As a comparison, you can do Forged with Fire with two people (I've done this by accident - a mentor called out and I was the only one that came, although some other people turned up while we were doing phase 75% to 50% on the warhounds, and it did get easier). Given that maps like DWC throw loot/income at you, I can't see why some of the other maps have the same low reward system. Istan was popular until the loots were nerfed (was it the multi-map being removed? I can't remember). Dragonfall and Silverwastes remain popular due to their reward/income system - and have the same mechanic towards ending the meta (build up points to a particular level, do some other prep that requires multiple players, then the final part of the meta starts, followed by a chest train). So, a major factor for some maps being played is the rewards. Which suggests that increasing the rewards for successful completion of meta events on lower-population maps would be worth a try. The loot for Serpent's Ire has never been good. Once people got the item they needed, they stopped doing the meta. Anet?????

First of all excuse me for how little I understand this process no matter how many times i read the wiki. > > > > Until I paid for the expansions I could navigate the game (I think). Now, going immediately from 60 to 80 has changed a lot. I have mastery points but I cannot unlock them. If I understand correctly, I'm not getting experience anymore. I don't fully understand the mastery points mostly bc I can't figure out how to unlock them. WIki didn't help me much. Pretty sure its just me bc it usually is but anyone who could explain how to actually unlock my points and then what to do with them I would really, really, really appreciate it. > > > > > > You must select a specific mastery skill to put your experience toward. Once you have enough experience, you can spend however many mastery points are required to earn that skill. Further, skills are segregated by location. For example, experience earned in HoT/LS3 maps will go toward HoT masteries while experience earned in PoF will go toward those masteries. Yes. Pick one mastery to train in each of the Tyria, HoT (when unlocked), and PoF (when unlocked), and also IBS (when unlocked). That means you can flit around the various expansions etc and everything you do is counting towards a mastery - instead of the normal experience bar you had to level 80, you now have a mastery experience bar. But only Tyria experience (events, gathering, etc) counts towards gaining the mastery experience for the Tyria masteries, only HoT experience counts towards for the HoT masteries, etc. Then, when you get to 100% of the mastery experience bar, you need the number of required points to train it - which is instant. Just click on the icon for that mastery to train. Then you pick the next mastery you want to do. Remember to train when you can! Once your mastery track has hit 100%, it doesn't automatically change to another mastery, so you need to pick the one you want. Finally, the masteries are in order within each type. In order to train a higher level mastery, you must train the mastery/masteries before it. Which is incredibly annoying when you want to get autoloot (Tyria mastery).
  8. Yes, the tonic. I was worried I was given it incorrectly as I didn't see it in the description. And I love cats.

I'm avoiding PoF till i've unlocked the rest of LW, so i'm roaming around on a Warclaw. Figured this was just half-kitten implementation across the board... I don't know. Normally with stairs, I'm using a flying mount.

Or did merchants in Australia decide that there was not enough profit for them to re-sell them. I'd like to see proof of your statement. > > Yep they (Anet) did , ALL sources of Gem Cards (Canada) disappeared from all the places they were available (including Amazon CA which only has the cards from 3rd party vendors that are selling (stealing) at inflated prices). I really doubt that walmart, best buy, eb, amazon etc colluded to not carry them. I can't buy them in NZ, either. Also, the gem cards were in local currency, so they need to be produced with the currency individually for each country. And, possibly more confusingly to some people in the USA, in NZ and Australia our sales tax must be included in the item cost. The item cost must be in NZD. So a $20NZD gem card was sold at $20NZD, including tax. No gem cards in local currency (including our 15% goods and services tax) == no cards available for sale in my country.

Yes. For the ones who think this game should be "more punishing" then GW2 would not be GW2. To flog a dead horse but using a comparison to WoW, the need to run back from a graveyard, or rez at a graveyard with an enforced death penalty, was horrible. Even running back to my body, I often couldn't get there quick enough to loot - it would be despawned. The fact that such a "punishment" is not implemented in this game is an attraction to players like me, not something that discourages us from playing. I can't fathom why people want a game marketed to casual players, which is programmed to promote pro-social behaviour between players, should implement a system where it's everyone for themselves. I can't see players who want downed players to be "punished" would be pro-social enough to help rez downed players.
  12. Can I get a warclaw that doesn't get temporarily thwarted by the top step of a staircase?
  13. Yes it is an Istani adoption: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sky_Bandit It looks like there is no pattern as to when the licenses show up for sale: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Istani_Isles_Mount_Adoption_License (see the Gem Store History section at the bottom - you need to expand it).
  14. I agree with everything except the request about the pony bow.
  15. I'm in NZ and on an NA server. While there are several versions of maps just after reset, and tend to be fewer maps later, meta events can still be done. For example, I can more often than not do meta events during NZ/AU peak time. Basically, it's like shifts of people logging in. There is always an overlap on the time zones, although this may not fit in with the meta. Also, don't expect that the meta map is always going to be populated. This is particularly during festival weeks, as many people focus on those. However, the maps with a good time-to-profit ratio tend to be populated, even during festivals. However, maps like Vabbi, which have a low time-to-profit ratio are going to suffer low player counts even at prime times.
  16. Metal Legion concert. Demolition derby. :)
  17. When it is Dragonstand event daily (complete 4 events in the map) you should be able to find a map that completes the meta. There's a commune HP, vista, and POI (I think) that is off to the side of where you get the final chest for the meta. The vine passage to the commune HP in the middle is only accessible once the meta has progressed to a certain point - I thought it was only accessible once the meta was completed but apparently you can get it early. You should be able to get some points along the way as the meta progresses, particularly POIs and vistas. If you don't have a mount then advanced gliding is probably required to traverse the map. It is definitely needed during the phase to fight modremoth.
  18. There are those of us with mesmers and talent and/or flying mounts that you get you to the egg spots for griffon. The one in the Maculate Fringe is extremely annoying to jump to, because you can't see it when you jump.
  19. The wiki has pages on which profession can craft what. Some crafting combinations are a bit weird - why can my tailor craft mithrillium? It's not surprising that the crafting mechanic can be a bit non-obvious at the start.
  20. One option would be to allow players to reorder them. Another option would be to allow players to hide the ones they are not interested in.
  21. There are already at least two clown implementations: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Clown and: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jack-in-the-Box_Scythe

Pretty good. Legendary Leyline Anomaly. For anyone who thinks the game is dying, try to do this boss in Timberline after reset...

Guild Wars 2 is different from all the mmorpg I've played. It's the only mmorpg that makes me come back every day and invest a lot of hours. But I started to think he was dead because I don't meet a lot of players.. > > It all depends on where you are, what you do, when you do it, and what kind(s) of guild(s) you join. > > Doing fairly popular and rewarding content like the latest meta event (like the newest map, Drizzlewood Coast or the still-running Dragonfall meta, or fractals) will put you with a lot of other players. In fact, for the meta event boss fights, you'll see more people than you'll ever want - the visual effect spam is off the charts in this game. Even officially 'dead' and abandoned content like dungeons, I run them several times per day. Almost every time I either make or join a full group of 5 via LFG. Organised Silverwastes maps can be full, and that content is pre Heart of Thorns - but is an excellent farming map. Plus it gives at least 4 central Tyria mastery points from killing the legendaries. Dry Top, released at the same time as Silverwastes (or about the same time) is still active, with people chasing map currency for their legendaries. There are new players in the lowbie maps, and mentors are often in there to support the new players. People ask out in map chat for help, also people call out meta events in map chat (e.g. Eye of Zhaitan event). There are bounty and HP trains in the PoF maps. There are HP trains in the HoT maps. People still do longer and more difficult central Tyria metas such as Triple Trouble (which, again, gives mastery points). The only map I tend to find can be dead is the latest map - Drizzlewood Coast. But that is because I am on the map out of peak hours. Throwing up a tag and putting up an LFG tends to solve that problem! All of these factors suggest that the game is not dying. Rather, people are playing how they want to play the game. Finally, the game is marketed as casual player-friendly, so people playing only for an hour a day is to be expected, and not a marker of a dying game.
  24. I managed to solo mine on the third try. I read a person's post, somewhere, that mentioned only shoot ahead of yourself. I've helped another person with this achievement, and I got a "buff the damage done" action on my action bar. Apparently that helps enormously. The person I helped asked in LA chat so it may be worthwhile asking there for assistance. People already in DF are likely to be key farming/working towards the meta, and may be less inclined to help, for those reasons. The story is instanced, so they may not end up back on the map IP they left.

In addition, Fractal runs outside the dailies would be promoted as well. However, thanks to our genius farmers, we have to double-check to prevent abuse of the system. Else there would be groups just grinding stacks in T1 fractals and doing their CM/T4/Rec after. > > - the buff only increases by one for each fractal of each tier, doing UB 15 times in a row would not cause 15 stacks > - the buff should have a cap of ~ 10 stacks I think this is a good idea. Reward pro-social behaviour rather than punishing less pro-social behaviour.
