It was a toss up between the two Asura, but my main is female.

Loved the story but it felt short and left more questions than answers.
-
Definitely felt way too short and too much like a prologue, that's my biggest criticism really. The other is the poorly explained fallen and aberrant mobs that spawn. What story there was was pretty good and the whispering to the player was a nice touch.
-
Human and Sylvari dialogue, just in general.

Please no time travel.

Holy shit that's bad.

Huh I never noticed I guess because I always use Rata Sum for my home nodes.

Yeah Ascalon also was the only region without living world maps until now.

Empathy and kindness are for weaklings. Born weak, are constantly sick, or old? Too bad, if you can't take care of yourself you're better off dead. We're better than you because of how we look. Etc etc. Basically outdated notions that cause harm in the long run.

If the names and terms they use weren't enough of a clue, they borrow a lot from the Romans and Spartans in many respects, including their ethos.

All interpretation of history is in some way colored by modern beliefs, no matter how accurate you try to make it. At the same time there doesn't have to be one set way to interpret a work, it's a very reductive way to look at art.

> I agree. I do think that Malice Swordshadow is something of a dark horse in this race, though - we know from Malice that Bangar and Smodur are vying for Khan-Ur, but if the Ash Legion imperator also wanted it she'd probably be smarter than to make her intentions known.

There was just enough NPC dialogue in the Flame Legion camp to get me hooked--and if I don't get the details and specifics on how Flame Legion got to this point, I'm going to be deeply disappointed.

The only one that felt like traditional Flame Legion was one comment during the fist story instance, so I hope to see more of a strife in the Flame Legion as we see them become more modernized to the standards of the other three Legions. Not an outright "they're opposing so we must kill them" but just voicing difference of opinions kind of setup.

> The one that I don't trust is Crecia. She's covert ops and is completely loyal to her imperator and her legion - Malice says that it's likely that Bangar left some spies behind, and Crecia seems like a prime candidate for that.
Being Khan Ur seems like it'd be too high profile for her to want the title, on top of her saying she doesn't like politics.

I agree that Smodur seems like the most likely candidate for Khan-Ur right now, my prediction is that there will be a civil war with a twist.. Bangar faces Jormag, but allies with him and declares himself Khan-Ur while slowly turning into an Icebrood, along with the people who came along with him.

As was said, pretty sure it's just a mole pun. Just try not to take it too seriously, really though there's very few areas that haven't had atrocities happen there historically. Just gotta remember it's only a game.

I do it when working on a legendary but haven't been at that stage on any lately, that and I tend to burn out quick in competitive play.

> Yeah, that's an interesting/uncanny combo. I think it makes sense as a pairing - water and memory. Or perhaps even water and *knowledge*? When you think about it, pools/bowls of water have been used a means of magically "scrying" for information in the real world, so there's some precedent for a supernatural/magical connection between water and knowledge.
We've already got crystal dragons with scrying or "crystal ball" abilities so I doubt it's that. More has to do with the way water erodes and washes away stuff having to do with forgetting I think.

Memory/forgetting as a domain would be interesting. Reminds me of Ondra from the pillars of eternity setting. Aside from the sea her domains include mourning and forgetting/the weight of memory.

The funko pops brought it down from neutral to dissatisfied.

I'm thinking next season will focus less on the dragon stuff at least initially, just going off the pattern they've been following. I think it'd be interesting to see some restoration happening in branded areas now that the storms should be gone, there's a lot of potential for interesting scenery, maybe even architecture made from brand crystals etc.
-
I think part of the issue is just how spread out it all is, so even a moderately large sized group can feel small with how many places there are to defend, and it's not as straight forward about what you should actually be doing than the rest of HoT's metas.
-
>(which doesn't matter to me, tbh, so long as it's not Spotlight Taimi).
Inb4 Taimi puts herself into a dragon golem that can replace one of them.

Man people really will complain about the smallest things, Guild Wars has always had a really diverse setting and anyone who thinks stuff like this is somehow immersion breaking has their head in the sand. It's like they won't rest until the setting is reduced to bland Tolkienesque high fantasy. Personally I prefer the dungeon punk elements, and dig the cute mount designs. Difference is I'm not complaining when something dark and edgy that isn't to my taste is added.
Edit: I just wish I could afford the skin.

I was hoping for a thread of silly/dumb legendary concept ideas and was sorely disappointed.

Uhh so WvW?

No great sword or offhand sword, torch, mace or scepter would be what I'd like to see. I want more thief dual skills and I'm tired of the obsession with swords.
Cool way on how to introduce the DSD
in Lore
Posted
DSD seems to be Lovecraft themed, honestly I don't think it can ever live up to expectations with all the mystery around it.
