  1. It's not a cooldown. Always, in the past, when I looted a sunken chest, it was still available as an interactive object. Starting today, they're not. They're just decorations now, as far as I can tell.

It has to be a bug, but other people CAN harvest them, so it's also an exploit of sorts.

  2. Found it, I think. It wasn't strictly the "Action Camera". It was "Enable First-Person Camera". I used the "Restore Defaults" button, and the problem went away. I played for over an hour without it happening, and it would have hit 10 times in an hour if it were still happening.

I marked it as answered though, because in searching for "Action Camera", I tripped over that button and that fixed it.

I only wish I could mark all three of you response as the answers, but only one; so I marked the first one. Thanks to all of you!

  3. No, it's definitely not lag. The mouse cursor changed (disappears), and the whole screen moves with what used to be the mouse cursor.

I can see how it could be valuable; you can quickly spin the whole area around you. So, I'm guessing it's a camera **feature**.

But, it's not valuable when it happens seemingly randomly. Yes, I know it's not "random"; rather I'm doing SOME thing to make it happen. But, I can't pin down what starts it.

It is a very good expansion. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending it.

And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I recommend buying Heart of Thorns as well. Not so much for the content as for gliding. It is a very difficult set of maps, but there are very interesting points in the story.

  5. Anybody? This is REALLY annoying. It' has killed me three times so far (in WvW), and almost killed me many times in PVE. There's got to be a setting I'm accidentally triggering, I would guess in the camera settings.

Does anybody know what setting could be used to have your camera follow your mouse movement when neither button is pressed. If I can find that name somewhere in the options, maybe I can change whatever I'm doing to trigger it.

I also check for the interaction text to change to "Pry Open" or "Dissolve" or whatever goes with that particular chest. Once I see it do that, I quickly click on it and then press F. Obviously, it'd be better if we didn't have to search for the right tiny spot to click on, but I can usually get by fine.

It really is just wrong when people do that. They know what they're doing.

However, for nodes and interactive objects, I've found they are not usually exactly on top, so moving around the node will frequently give me the option to mine/gather/chop.

But, you're right: we shouldn't have to do this.

Thank you, and to NanoElite as well. THAT is what I'm looking for. Both are hard to do (which is my point - the game itself doesn't provide a good way). But, both are helpful ideas.

    > Well gw2 is from 2012 though. But I will try playing on lower settings.

First, check Task Manager's memory graph (on the Performance tab). If you're over 3/4 full, memory is an issue.

Then it still remains to show how the problem is occurring. It can be caused by either flat out usage, in which case the settings will help.

But, if it's a situation where memory usage rises over time, eventually getting unusable, then there could be a memory "leak".

To test this theory, look at the size of used memory (same graph) after you've been using your computer for a few days, but have everything shut down. Then, restart the computer.

If when you get back up, memory used (before anything is brought up) is substantially less than what it was after a few days (but still idled down), then there's a leak.

If there's a leak, you're into nightmare territory. The difference between the startup memory used and the steady-state memory level is "dead" memory. It can't cleared except by the program that created it, or a system restart. (OK, that's false; with the right tools you can clear it.) So, I just restart the computer when dead memory gets too high (10-20%, for my system).

    > Citation needed, as the kids love to say?

I've done the analysis myself. IRL I am a computer performance expert (among other things).

But, if s/he leaves Task Manager running as stated, s/he will know whether memory is an issue or not. The graph will show yea or nay.

    HOW?

When you target one (by clicking on it), you get whatever ANet thinks is the highest priority, or whatever is "closest". When they're on top of each other, I know of no way to target any of the other objects.

I can hit tab to target a different enemy. But I don't know of a key that cycles through objects. That's what I'm asking for.

    >

    > > If you didn't request this change, please [fill in the blank] the Guild Wars Support Team immediately.

    >

    > Given that ANet would have to translate that updated text into 4 other languages (and probably get a legal team review), at some additional cost, do you still think this is important for them to do? Is it more important than other text changes or other work for which those involved are also responsible?

No legal team was used on the current one. Lawyers understand language, and don't use even marginally-deficient words.

But, you're completely missing the point: When someone's account is compromised, they need IMMEDIATE attention. That's the whole point of their email: to determine if immediate attention is needed.

But, meeting that goal is impossible, regardless of how one interprets the sentence.

My main point is that there needs to be a way to immediately lock the account until more solid action can be taken.

  12. Whenever I make a sweeping stroke with my right mouse button held down, there's about a 1 in 3 chance that it will lock the mouse in position for a few seconds, and then all of a sudden, any mouse movement turns the whole camera. I have to right-click again to get out of it.

Does anybody know what causes this, or how to fix it? It only happens in GW2. It only started happening a few weeks ago.

That hurts EVERYBODY, including you. Don't do it.

8GB isn't enough nowadays, unless you push down some of the options. Hit F11 in the game and go to the Graphics Options tab. Many of the entries tell you which settings to use to reduce memory usage.
