It certainly looks _fine_, but is it _legendary_? I don't think so, considering there are a few skins that already look similar to this bow minus the effect.

Maybe its an introvert legendary, its power doesnt show outwards but inwards. like excalibur in most cases is a shinier generic looking sword.

  2. Im so glad I played when these runes were so common you had hundreds of them at te end of wintersday.

Whether or not its a 900 gold item or whether its supposed to be, the most i spend on it, because of that advantage, is like 50 gold. Ofcourse i had to wait a few years for the drinks/tonics.

It just goes to show that market value is more important than obtainability and fun. I dont understand why its still hundreds of materials, when the acquisition is limited, even when its better this year, its still 200 brilliance elements.

I dunno, I guess GW2 used to be alot less grindy for some things, and now its supposed to be prestigious. Please. ArenaNet simply doesnt change it and l

the players determine afterwards how valuable it is or isnt through the trading market. Easier to design, and it gives something longterm for players to work towards, which makes them play longer which hopefully makes them buy more gems.

It doesnt matter that its grindy to get either as its optional customisation anyway.

That some people have a life and find it too grindy doesnt matter, as its the players that want everything that more often also pay the real moneys.

  3. While runes are like set items, I think the OP is more after the feeling of collecting and using odd gear, that magically synergize with eachother and become equal to max gear.(with some special effects.)

I guess ArenaNet split the experience up into runes and collections though. And yeah, that makes collecting gear or any gear drops terribly generic. 99,999% of the drops in GW2 are unexciting, which you either salvage or deposit or merch/sell.

Whether making the generic items more exciting will work like this, i doubt it, and it's what they tried to do with unidentified gear, and the response was mixed.

With a clearly indicated time limited beetle race promotion going on, and the otherwise casual nature of the game...

You're saying you need to just go out of your way to get the beetle mount as fast as possible, regardless of your interests as a player. A bit brash, but practical.

Not unsurprising bit of logic, for someone who sees needing a mount on the same level as getting food. Gaming is life after all.

Yeah, like you talk to the NPC, jump on the mount, talk to the race mount, get auto-dismounted, and you think: "MY, those 5 steps were Fun! Now I want to buy PoF! Anet is amazing!"

Mounts are just that intense I guess.

(At least my first experience with the rental mounts was like that, minus buying PoF, as I had that already, but still)

And what if you have it but arent there in the story yet?

And on principle, that an NPC says he rents you a mount for 1 silver (which is rather cheap), for an hour (pretty long) which then gets lost as soon as you get off it, is not really good. Especially as talking to NPCs unmounts you automatically, which sometimes just happens as you want to talk to the Race NPC.

Personally Im unaffected, and I dont think its a huge problem per say. But at least its not very well done either. And if thats going to be the kind of design thats supposed to convince people to buy the expansion or not, I rather have something that doesnt accidentally enables a waste of money.

And, while probably never going to happen, I wouldnt mind more rental services, with, lets say specific skins, or even specific use mount in the future, or whichever. In that case a rental service that doesn't feel like it could rip you off, would be nice.

    >

Exactly why it would need to be made smartly, probably with such in mind from launch.

Its not impossible, but it would require a near full overhaul.

    > If it wasn’t just a daily for five beetle races, and that it wasn’t a temporary thing going away in a few weeks, sure.

If not for these dailies, then for future new permanent or temporary dailies.

I rather have no temporary dailies than rather ones that are not fun to do. or wait for rather.

  9. I personally would like more revisitting old maps in general. The way they do it now, each location gets used once. That doesn't make much sense. I dont need new maps personally, and would love if they revisitted old maps with new content.

Ofcourse not going to happen as other content would need to make space for the new.

But im still hoping they figure out a smart system for that, if not for this game, maybe for a gw3.

  10. Yeah, I like decorations too, but i don't have time to wait around for racer dailies more than maybe once a week, and well, in order to have fun i tend to stay clear from these clumsy dailies.

Waiting for events is not what the event system is made for and it really never should be attached to achievements unless there's a specific reason for it. THese dailies cant be gone soon enough, I rather have increased rewards for the time trials.

  11. Smart way to put in gear grind, 'sadly' GW2 is not about gear grind. You have to select a set of stats as a tactical decision, rather than as a way to endlessly, some may say pointlessly, progress.

Alternatively, I definitely wouldn't mind a way to unlock different stat selections like that though. Which are then a part of your character forever and are free to select. Like a super slow way probably more expensive way to get legendary I guess.

Might be too late to implement that though. Idk, people tend to go crazy about 'loss of value' for exsisting legendary gear

I am just pointing out the difference either way, before it gets sillier. Definitions are serious business.

If you go subatomic then nothing is really connected....

Either way, that what youre calling splitting hairs, is the obvious mistake of defining being part of the EU the same as being part of Europe.

No wonder Europe is shrinking if the definition changes that dramatically.

A simple expansion of the hall isn't enough, the guild halls will need to have at least 20 times more size to fit enough houses, unless by house inside the guild hall you mean a tiny hut. Further, the design of the guild halls doesn't support "houses" placed around, that would mostly be annoying for anyone trying to move around to reach the npcs.

    >

    > Housing = a personal/private instance, an upgrade of the home instance is more likely. Stay away of guild halls.

You can easily place a 1000 TARDIS's in the guild hall. I dunno what youre talking about that it doesnt fit. :p

I can easily imagine a guild hall building with an (or multiple) elevator/portal/rift/asura gate or linking book teleport you to your house in the mists, home/house instance/biome/part of the city etc.

What I dont see happening is actually physically in the open world or guildhall correctly scaled houses. Not anywhere. I mean, its ofcourse also possible, just unlikely.

Whether the housing system is or isnt linked to guilds I have no preference, though. I wouldnt mind using some guild team work to help guildies achieve their (housing) goals. And otherwise I guess itll be a mostly solo experience. Either works.

That's all avoidable by smart design.

There's bigger reasons thats never letting guild halls be more though. Guild Halls are (originally) HoT content, and Arenanet disbanded the Guild team.
