  1. Power Renegade is fine. You can play it as pure DPS, Healer or Alacrity support.
  2. Another suggestion: It should not have those ugly visual effects on the hands. The icons on the buff bar are more than sufficient.
  3. I just hope that it will not related to specific combat encounters (like the essences system) and that it'll **not** be connected to loot.

I believe this game has had major profession overhauls mere months before a release. I know it has happened in other MMO’s. > > It was stated by Anet, new Elites will be part of EoD, it's on wiki and there's a link proof. It's confirmed that there will be new elite specializations. But it's not "set in stone" what they will be like, what weapons they will get, which type of utility skills they receive or which roles they aim to fill.

You just ignore the worse outcome in the part you quote? We already have matches with low silver and platinum players. If bots really are as many as some people claim, removing all of them could result in a rank disparity so big that platinum and higher players are placed in matches with bronze players. Also, I assume that the queue will increase far more than just one minute. > dam dude. Are you certain that my DNA contains Y-chromosomes? That'd be news to me.
  6. While it might be slightly offtopic, But Blizzard announced "cosmetic outfits" at their Blizzconline, which can be used on any class, regardless of armour weight. And they come come in pieces, so they can be mixed with regular armour pieces. It reminded a lot of what some players wish for GW2's outfits to be.

By now ppl would think "ok, they banning, lets aee how long they can keep thia bots away" I doubt a substantial amount of people would come back to this clown show we have instead of balance.

A ban wave would result in longer queue times and even worse matches, as the rank disparity in matches with exacerbate.
  9. I think the report function is mostly there to make you feel better for reporting misdeeds. I have yet to read about Arenanet doing anything with those reports though.
  10. The weapons are just ugly recolours of already ugly weapons with even more particle spam for the game. I like the Celestial challenge in the garden though.
  11. Outfits are one piece because Arenanet wanted to cut the workload and not have to worry about making it possible to match individual pieces. I just wish that the price actually reflected that the workload is far less than for an armour set.

Hopefully this new spec will finally see us actually using our pet. > > > > This statement is false. There were a maximum of 8 skills in Guild Wars 1, of which Charm Animal (and later Comfort Animal [PvE]) were required skills for the Ranger to even have a companion in the first place, which was just another body with a slow attack speed, no attack skills of its' own and its' damage partially dependant on your investment into the Beast Mastery attribute. > > Point being, when staying true to the Guild Wars 1 comparison; the Ranger originally had an optional pet, not one as its' core mechanic. Maybe they were referring to the "Pet Attack" skill category, when they meant "pet attack skills". And with "double the skills" they could have meant that those pet skills might be usable at the same time as other skills (I never used Pet Attacks, so I don't know about that one though).
  13. I just wish they had made them a bit less tedious since release, but nothing happened. Their HP is still too big of a sponge. Their CC spam still is to much. Their AoE spam still is too much. They still throw around too many conditions. The bosses have no interesting mechanics. Arenanet needs to stop doubling down on the things that make encounters bad. > @"Wolfhound.4381" said: > I tried the first one when it came out. Didn't like it and haven't been back to any of them. People still play these? Yes, people still do them.

  15. > @"Psycoprophet.8107" said: > Ur last sentence perfectly shows how badly designed dh is and why it needs reworked. The problem here is that DH had been designed with power damage in mind, yet Burning as a condition so atrociously strong that DH is better at Condition damage. So the problem is one of balancing, not of design. It doesn't help that rune of the Trapper is just exacerbating the problem **and** gives DH things that Guardians ought to not have access to. Suffice to say, both this rune and Burning are too strong. A bit of shaving is necessary, alongside with a rework of the rune's 6th effect. DH's design is fine for what is supposed to be, it just suffers from the February 25th patch of last year. If anything, I'd just replace Pure of Sight, as being further away should not result in higher damage.

  17. > @"Kodama.6453" said: > I don't think that it necessarily needs to have a stat penalty just because berserker has one. > They are building on different classes with different advantages and disadvantages. Berserker, as a warrior elite spec, naturally has more "base defense" than holosmith as an engineer elite spec. And Holosmith currently outperforms Berserker in every way possible, be it sustain, defense or damage. > Core warrior already has the stat advantage, since it is the class with the highest health tier **and** highest armor class in the game. It is the class with the highest inherent defensive stats. Yet these no longer mean anything since the power creep that started with HoT. > Core warrior has the ability to weapon swap, allowing it to take 2 defensive weapons in the offhand. Core engineer doesn't have the ability to weapon swap, this class can just slot in a shield in the offhand as a defensive option. Kits effectively are weapon Swaps, Holoforge is effectively a weapon swap+ that also improves utilities and sword. > My point is: I think berserker got this stat penalty to move it more towards the direction of a glass cannon. It inherently already has more defense and this penalty is supposed to remove some of these stat advantages which come naturally by being a warrior. For the over-performance in damage, Holosmith ought to be directed towards glass cannon as well. Yet it gets bonus sustain in addition to said overperforming damage. > Berserker then has the opportunity to buy these defenses back in the trait system, but that requires investment that doesn't go towards more damage. And yet these defense have been neutered or turning into 300s placeholders in PvP, where they mattered most, drastically reducing their usefulness. It ought to be obvious that the Toughness reduction simply isn't justified, especially compared to Holosmith.
  18. To me, DRMs are far more mentally exhausting than they are physically. And I'm only doing 3 of them daily doing the community events. I'm not even going to bother with CMs or grinding the weapon collections. The CM achievements really should have been limited to one time instead of five and the CM Mastery Points should have been tied to that.
  19. Champion's Dusk is the only Stronghold map. So, when unranked decides you get to play Stronghold, you don''t get a choice. There are plenty of people who only queue in unranked to play Stronghold. So, if you queue for both, getting Stronghold is very likely.
  20. > @"Kodama.6453" said: > Looking at holosmith, it basically really is just played in one niche: dps. Which is entirely on purpose, considering that holosmith is supposed to be engineers prime dps spec. Berserker is Warrior's "prime DPS spec", yet has a stat reduction during Berserk. Holosmith should be handled similarly while being in Photon Forge or while cooling down.
  21. This has been in the game since release. This isn't exclusive to Norn either. You can also see this on humans using Embroidered Pants together with the Sorcerer's Coat (T3 human cultural light armour). I don't see it when using the Pit Fighter Chestguard and Skirt though.
  22. I think it's fine. It's a mostly player driven economy and thus shouldn't be artificially restrained.
  23. > @"Aaron.1294" said: > @"Kodama.6453" U don't expect warr to be a support when u're choosing this class as ur main or W/E. If u want a support and u want to fullfill ur role as such - just play guardian. This is one of thpse things dat I don't understand. Ppl want support spec but tell me wat another elite support spec can do dat any other support variants can't? De only way to make it work is just "make just the same skill but with increased duration and decreased smthn". And we probably end up again with just a copypaste of tempest and guardian combined - just worse bcuz warr have the highest health pool and heavy armor. And ones usually doesn't expect Necro to be an AoE-vomiter or a melee fighter with a Greatsword. One usually also doesn't expect a mage profession like Elementalist to be most effective in melee. What one expects from an archetype does not matter for GW2.
  24. To me, New World and Ashes of Creation don't look very appealing. In my opinion, Blue Protocol looks far more promising.
  25. This community event is **not** a new release. It still is part of the Chapter 2 release from January 19th.
