  1. Do most people open unidentified gear, or do they salvage it?

I've been opening all the rare, but have been torn on what to do with the blue and green unids. I have all the basic skins (I think) collected at this point, save the super rare special weapons for the specialty collections (except for Warpblade, which I finished). I 'assume' there is a chance to get those rare skins from the rare only, which is why I've just been opening those. I occasionally get rares from opening blue and green bags, or maybe I should say 'regularly', with an MF of 233 (253 adjusted with no personal buffs), but rares only sell for about 2/3 of what they did before PoF these days, and while I just started selling excess ectos, I'm not really familiar with where that market is at.

  2. I crafted the boots as well. Rather than craft my own insignia, I just bought it from the AH. I bought the boot recipe from the center of where the Mad King shows up in Lion's Arch? I forget the name of it. Lion's Court? Big circular area south of the bank. I bought my insignias yesterday (13 in total, as I also wanted to craft the other armor sets for the 4th back piece) for 15g/ea, but I see they are down to 14g/ea today. Possible they might keep dropping over the next few weeks, but that's a bit of a gamble playing the waiting game (seeing as I only see 83 out there right now). Lunatic Gossamer Insignia. That will save you from needing all the special yellow crafting mats, of which I have none (and I wasn't really sure how to get them, and wanted to get what I needed ASAP in case there was a rush on parts and pieces).

  3. Doesn't work, at least in Chrome. When I hit TAB in the subject field, it flies down to the action buttons. In fact, it will then tab down into several links at the bottom of the page before ever popping back up to the body.

It would be nice to type "Blah blah blah"[TAB]"Blah blah blah blah balance blah rage blah blah rip blah". :)

But if it's coming, like say, in a week or two (presumably before the event is over), why would they be selling the stand alone broom now, if they would, again, presumably, sell the broom glider as a package with the glider skin and toy (like they did with the carpet), knowing that if people see the broom for sale and buy that now, they'll have wasted their gems, and complain, like people complained last time?

Last time it was about getting toy refunds for something (the carpet) we had for years, so not much of an argument there, but to sell a broom right now (which hasn't been out in awhile, right at the holidays, when a lot of people might want a broom that don't have one) then and 'wham' 2 weeks later - "oh, here's a broom glider skin plus toy pack, sorry, no toy refunds".

I mean, no skin off my back, I've had my toy for years, and would not expect a refund, but if I were someone that bought a broom toy today and the broom skin "came soon" as you say (and I hope you are right), and as a combo pack like last time (where you can't buy the broom glider skin solo), I'd be pretty bummed. :)

  5. If one or two of the achievements seem like something I'm just not going to be able to do, but I want to complete "Mad Memorial", can I buy the one or two missing recipes (or I guess 3, I'd need the insignia recipe) and craft the one or two pieces normally rewarded for those achievements and unlock the skins and have those count towards "Lunatic's Fashion", which in turn will count towards "Binding Agreement" of "Mad Memorial"?

  6. A little surprised this didn't happen. We got the magic carpet earlier this year, as a glider. Was surprised they didn't do the same for the broom stick. Seems like an obvious choice.

Side question: Does having the 'Automatic Broom' buff on still kick you off your glider in mid flight, potentially killing you? Or was that at least fixed (in lieu of not getting a proper boom glider skin)?

Thanks! I'll try to remember that if I ever do that again. Hopefully changing my reminder to every Monday will fix things moving forward. :)

Well, I did the level 10 story mission on Sunday, but didn't get a key, because it was too soon. So if I delete that character and try again, will I get the key? Or did trying it on Sunday before it was ready kill me for another week?

  9. I had in my mind that the reset to do the weekly key was on Sunday, so I set a Wunderlist weekly reminder for Sunday, which usually gets pushed to Monday for various reasons, and did it this past Sunday and didn't get a key. It made me realize that the 'Sunday' I was told about was really Sunday _at quest reset_, which puts it around 5pm my time.

So I guess I have two questions. First, is that right? The weekly reset is at quest reset on Sunday?

Second, even though I already deleted and re-created my weekly key character this week, and failed to get a key, could I do it today (or tomorrow, or before Sunday) but get the key this time? Or did I lose the whole week?

It's for all those other things "not" listed where it might be beneficial for someone to swing by in the hopes of getting something done they were hoping to do. If they show up and it's a marriage, the only person who is out anything is "the stranger". If it's killing a champ or getting a hero point done or a tough event, well they get to help participate in open world content.

    >

    > I'm not sure what you're getting at here, or what you mean by "the examples seem hand picked". If the squad is doing open-world content then yes of course other people can, and probably will, join in - with or without a commander tag.

    >

    > But when they're using a tag for something other people can't join in on it gets awkward. It's not just the strangers who show up who end up losing out - the commander (and therefore the whole squad) has to stop what they're doing to explain that no there's not an event chain starting soon, or anything else the stranger can participate in, just...whatever they were doing. (Or ignore the stranger, who is likely running and jumping around the group - either because they think they're killing time waiting for an event or because they're trying to get someone to answer their questions about what's going on.)

    >

    > On a bad day the stranger gets angry that they were mislead by the tag and decides to lecture the group on their personal definition of when and how to use a commander tag. And then once it's all settled the next stranger shows up and it starts over again.

    >

    > For an extreme example take Pink Day in LA. It's a very long, player created and run event in the game's main city. In previous years I've spent literally hours doing little more than explaining in chat what's happening, why, how it works, why we're using commander tags etc. over and over to different people who show up after the previous explanation or weren't paying attention to chat at the time. In that case it's fine - the whole point of the event is to attract as much attention as possible. But doing the same when you just want to get on and play with your little group of friends gets frustrating.

That's fair. I'm more concerned about it mechanically being used (abused?) in a manner completely opposite of the scenarios you put forward. Where people purposefully hide groups to avoid the spirit of general, open world content.

Other than jumping puzzles, which lots of people could benefit from, the examples are seem hand picked. It's for all those other things "not" listed where it might be beneficial for someone to swing by in the hopes of getting something done they were hoping to do.
