  1. If you want the thing you got to do the thing. If you don't want to do thing to get the thing, you don't want it enough. Don't ask for the game to change only to cater to your """needs""".
  2. > @"Oxstar.7643" said: > Utterly incorrect statement. Races have their own storylines, their own racial abilities, and dialogue differences in the story. They very much matter. Storylines can be told without a given race being playble and the storyline of your character stops caring about what race you chose after the first five or so story steps. Racial abilities are deliberately sub-par, so that we don't have to live in a world where only certain races are welcome to high end gameplay due to better racials, dialogue differences are minor and come with classes and backgrounds as well, no nedd for a new race only to have varying dialogues. Race doesn't matter beside cosmetics, but you can read all of that in the other threads.
  3. Why hasn't this thread been merged with the thousands of other "Nu rAcE NaO!!!!!"-threads? Race doesn't matter in this game, so spending resources on implementing a new reace seems like a waste. For more details use the forum's search function to find the bazillion new race threads that already exist.
  4. I like the combat, the classes/elites, the scenery in most maps and also, that it's a game that let's you put it away for a while when you don't feel like playing without missing out on much. I like how they did mounts and general movement is very smooth. And I like to rapidfire doods in PvP with my ranger.
  5. It's on the table. Ready when it's ready. Your call is very important to us, please hold the line.

  7. Tradeable Gen1 legendaries were a mistake, so I don't think we should reproduce the effect with Gen2 legys.
  8. Exp3 will be released when it's ready. Story is already set, I doubt whatever you want or don't want will have any influence on what is going to happen.
  9. Devs don't care. "Your call is very important to us, please hold the line."
  10. I'd rather have ANet spent resources on something else than a new playable race as race in GW2 doesn't add much to the playing experience other than looks. Everything else that can be done by a new race in this game can just as well be achieved without going through the hassle implementing a new race would be.
  11. Sure, let's have some options with skins that are made anyway. > @"Dragon.4782" said: >Why cant we have a miniature scimitar dagger, or a kukri? Hell, why not split charakams or sai's? If it helps: [sai](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Usoku%27s_Needle), [Kama](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragon_Kama), [Kukri](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Touch_of_Dhuum) are in-game already.

  13. > @"lokh.2695" said: > Randomness is random, who would have guessed. Yup there is a possibility to throw a 6 sided die 100 times and it always lands on a 1. Randomness is strange and counterintuitive.
  14. I'd rather have them spend resources on something else.
  15. Festivals are just a cheap way of delivering """content""". Also, since these festivals are mostly automated at this point, I would not expect any major changes to what they contain. "B..but they did mounts" - yeah sure, never say never, I just wouldn't get my hopes up too high for any substantial changes to any of the festivals.
  16. Randomness is random, who would have guessed.

  19. Would I like to have more options when it comes to the visual clutter? Sure. Would I like to benefit from more fps, if the partices were turned off/down? Yup, would be swell. Maybe, at this point it's easier to upgrade the engine for GW2, if done right, ANet might keep GW2 running for however long it takes to move on to three? I don't know, I'm not a dev. Would I boycott/escalate communication/leave over this issue? Nah, doubt it. > @"Excursion.9752" said: > Ultimatums most never work in most places in life and are typically manipulative. No one wants to be forced to do anything for any reason. Its a typical power play move of people that are fed up or feel out of control. > > It would take an inordinate amount of people to feel the same way you do to make anet even consider this. As people have suggested there are better ways to handle the cosmetic effects. I know nothing has been mentioned by anet about this but I believe that they have something brewing like an effects tab or whatnot. I personally don't mind people showing off their creative side. I personally would love to turn off the 7 orbs floating above my characters head. Also this^^
  20. Seeing how sanitized the whole """communication""" with the community is, I doubt anything of interest would come out of it. Also, if I want marketing speak I read ANet's announcements.

  22. In my experience, the problem of the daily rush is a player generated one, where ANets systems do in fact work as intended and need not be fixed or adjusted. Ok, let's say it's Daily Queensdale events day. Everybody wants to get their four events done as fast as possible. There are those who port in, write "events plox?!?!?!?!?!?!?" in mapchat and wait for the problem to solve itself. Those players will take longer for their daily, it will take time for people to respond, and by that time, the event wil be done, even if there only were two or three players doing it. Then there are the players, who seek out events and want to help, so they tag up or ping a WP in mapchat, I'd say maybe even those players, but pretty sure most players who wait or follow those gatherings also take longer than necessary for their daily, especially gathering events can scale up to enourmous amounts of stuff that has to be gathered when 30 people flock to a commander on other events extremly tanky elites can spawn, (because farming small events with huge zergs for champs was a thing in the past and they had to fix it). When I do Daily [map] Events I usually just cruise around on a mount, stick to the roads and do whatever opens up on the way, I'm usually done in under 15min. Another good option is to wait for the maps World Boss/Meta Event, if available, might not be the fastest way, but at least you're doing something additional to the daily.

Delete people who use the pony bow from the server. > O.O How dare you..... On a more serious note. Yes, options to tone things down wouldn't hurt. I don't have enough problems with it that it's a big issue for my enjoyment but stills like in the OP always make me laugh a bit and think "Ah the beauty of GW2". The stills also always look worse than the actual game in movement, but yeah, you have a point. Also, as a side effect, maybe the game would not turn into a slideshow as soon as more than 20 objects need to be animated, if neither the objects nor the animations were as "flashy". To help while "the concern is being adressed": many skills are telegraphed by more than one tell, it's not just the animations or visual tells you can watch out for. There are adio-tells as well, phrases a boss says before executing an attack or other sounds that indicate something's about to happen.
