As for Infuse Light, whatever, it seems like so many players are literally playing with their eyes closed to not see the aura or skill bar icon, maybe Anet really needs to apply a stronger aura effect where Infuse Light literally blinds everyone in the game so that they won't hit the Herald when it's active. Here's some tidbit for yu btw : Infuse Light also heals off Condi. So if yu Condi Burst a Herald, they can turn on Infuse Light to heal off OPGG Burn stacks. It sounds to me that it's more likely that yur playing some Trapper Burn DH, and yur salty that people are using Infuse Light correctly to dab on yur pretty Trap setup. PS : I just realised yur the same guy who cried so hard for Shiro nerfs while mistaking everything Herald has for a Shiro kit, therefore I can safely assume that yu are extremely inexperienced in the game. Please learn the game more or even pick up Herald and try it out. Yu will find that there are alot of things Herald cannot do and add that to yur game knowledge.
  2. My wish for WvW : Players can only change servers once per 6 months.
  3. Shhh guys don't tell him about the Condi version, his brain might explode.
  4. What kind of Fanfic is this? Almorra's death was the catalyst for Jhavi to step up and take command, while previously she was troubled with being a descendent of Jora, but not being special in anyway. With Almorra's death, she is forced to act and to lead the Vigil against Drakkar. Almorra is key in her change. There is literally no point in keeping Almorra around as a cripple. If the subject is not going to be important for anything in a story, remove it. Almorra has had a good run, she's lived a long life. We don't need another Zojja case in Gw2 where they are "alive" but can no longer contribute due to injuries.
  5. > @"EdwinLi.1284" said: > Well the whole "I am a good guy" talk is not wrong. Jormag naturally believes she is doing the right thing by freezing the entire world to preserve and protect the world. That's the thing.... I wish they had put that across in a better way. Jormag went from "hey, we friends, we talk now, we share info, we work together" to "I'm chit chat with Aurene, and er, thanks for the info guys ima go do my.... stuff now" Did Jormag JUST come up with this idea of turning the world into a fridge? Why not just act on it in the first place? It's not like they needed an alliance to go around turning things into popsicles. Doubt they needed to consult the Asuras on who or where to freeze over, Jormag could have just frozen over whatever they reached. It's just a whole jumbled mess, trying to bring some humanity to Jormag by wanting alliance, but then deciding to "lol nvm, everyone's a popsicle now" I've mentioned it before : the entire Ice Brood Saga is just a convulated mess of trying to make a "deep intriguing storyline" but ended up just digging holes everywhere with no plan.
  6. All I gotta say is the plot of Champions so far is just a whole show of "seriousness" with no depth underneath. GO TO HERE! FIGHTING! DANGER! GO TO THERE! FIGHTING! STRESSFUL! GO TO HERE! FIGHTING! CONFUSION! GO TO THERE! FIGHTING! SURPRISE PLOT TWIST (which isn't a surprise at all) Meanwhile Aurene : Dur, I can't take action. Balance. Blah blah blah. Meanwhile Jormag : *turns some villages into an Ice cream truck* I'm good guys, I swear Meanwhile Primordus : *rawr burn rawr death and destruction* Meanwhile Braham : WAAAAAAA WAAAAAA IM CONFUSED, WHO AM I, WHAT AM I, WAAAAA OWL DEAD
  7. > @"anduriell.6280" said: > Just saying using the win rate in WvW is not a clear pointer a build or class is op, most of the peeps you can find in there are PvE players doing the transition to PvP. In other words is not like you can find there the top experienced players. Wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. I play WvW because I hate PvP amulets, I like Group v Group fights and I like the whole "battlefield" objective based gamemode. PvP is just a cesspool which yu are thrown in with static objectives which force players to fight over, with stifled build options thanks to nerfs and amulets. PvP yuck. There's a reason why Renegade isn't GGOP in WvW despite having a better overall performance, and there aren't dumb nerfs and amulets choking out builds in WvW and there are a variety of builds that can put down GGOP builds in WvW. Any gamemode which limits the player build wise is disgusting in my opinion.
  8. > @"Yoci.2481" said: > The trade-off is the lack of directional mobility on dodge. Which is made up with their GM Minor which grants them 66% Movespeed so they can actually cover similar or more ground than a regular dodge roll. So it's not that they don't have that "weakness" covered. And tbh, Mirage Cloak is actually stronger in certain situations, like getting Immob spammed, where they can still dodge on the spot, whereas other dodges are simply unable to function. They need a sort of mechanical tradeoff, but 1 dodge is not it. Something on the same level as Chrono's Shatters would be nice tbh.
  9. PvE Weave Self good with Stance Trait for Barrier that's about it.
  10. Restore 2 Dodge. New trade off? Max 2 Clones. Let's go. This way, IH gets indirectly nerfed, and Mirages get 2 dodges back, and there still is a tradeoff. Win win win.
  11. It honestly doesn't matter if they adding Tengus shouldn't be an issue, since they already use Charr mesh to some extent. It's only an issue if there is a problem with modelling new outfits of existing clothing to fit Tengus. (Which I think there shouldn't be)
  12. > @"Sobx.1758" said: > And what is this "compared to.." list? You're listing that classes need to use their kit? And thief somehow doesn't? That's just false. It's fundamentally true though. If a Thief has to fight, say, Vet Guards, they have no need to use any of their slotted utilities at all. For all the other builds/professions I listed, they have to at least use a couple of utilities which are part of their combo which form up their build. Unless yu are gonna counter my point by saying people can kill anything with just auto attacks I guess. I'm actually curious to see what happens if there is a WvW weekend where all utilities save Healing skills are locked out.
  13. > @"saerni.2584" said: > In reality it's more that thief can either run, which is safer, or fight and risk dying. And winning in that case is more a matter of build craft and skill. Sure a thief could always run but that means they can never win because the cool downs they use to run are the same they need to win (both utilities and in terms of initiative use). Woah woah woah, I think yur underselling Thief a tad there. Thief needs their utilities to run, yes, but they absolutely do not need them to kill. D/P is just so overloaded a kit it can be used to both run and kill provided the Thief isn't forced to use their cooldowns. Unblockable Blind + 900 Gapcloser + Damage Shadowshot Heartseeker execute Backstab D/P 5 + 2 If a Thief isn't forced to use their cooldowns at all, I'm pretty sure they have more than enough with just D/P to kill someone. Compared to stuff like : Power Herald : probably needs to cast Facets and PT a few times Burn DH : probably needs to use their Traps and Spear Immob Druid : probably needs to Entangle, and their traps to kite Scrapper : probably needs to use their Kits once or twice, but their individual skill cooldowns are something else Mesmer : probably needs to use their cooldowns a few times due to their Burst oriented playstyle by going from weaponskills > cooldowns > weaponskills Reaper : definitely needs to use their cooldowns like Necrotic Traversal, Chilled to the Bone, Spectral Grasp etc to secure kills Scourge : let's be real MMs are essentially using all their utilities :P Yu get the idea. And then we have Thief which is like "Lol 5 + 2 > Steal + Backstab > wait around for retaliation > Shadowshot > 5 + 2 > Shadowshot > wait around > 5 + 2 > Steal + Backstab"
  14. > @"saerni.2584" said: > Don't need to reset. Why reset if you are winning? Managing cool downs is fundamental. But you lose a few cool downs naturally during a fight. It's whether you burn their cool downs in that time. If so then you come out ahead. And there we have it. This is why Thief needs to be nerfed : When both players are equally skilled and blow each other's cooldowns, thief comes out ahead. /s
  15. B-yora but I tend to skip or lessen the Y sound and just go something like B-eORA Bjora the Explorer.
  16. > @"saerni.2584" said: > Utility is stunbreak. Utility is cleanse. Utility is stealth. > > So if you just kite the thief for a bit in the start to bait those cool downs they are trapped. > > The strongest thieves don't reset. They just beat you. "The strongest thieves don't reset" is false. If yu manage to force even a good thief to use a couple of cooldowns, they will be quick to break away instead of re-engaging. It's a no brainer that a fragile build like most thieves run will refrain from re-engaging when they have no defensive cooldowns left. This isn't even a Thief centric gameplay tactic, every player who has played the game for awhile will instinctively know how "safe" they feel with how much they have left. And if they don't feel safe, they usually back off from a fight or wait around buying time for cooldowns and play defensively. Only bad players in general get baited into using cooldowns but continue fighting anyway.
  17. Lion's Arch has Asura gates, making sea trade obsolete. In fact, the existence of Asura gates make all methods of travel pretty obsolete when yu can just commission a gate at major locations then boom baby, instant trade route. That's what waypoints essentially are no?
  18. Most sword attacks are Poke Stab Swing tho :p
  19. I don't consider anything Anet has done last year to be Balance changes at all. They are just playing whack-a-mole until no moles are left. Yu know what the dumbest thing is? I've heard that the balance team can't make skill changes to address long lasting problems because apparently THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO CHANGE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SKILLS. Like so all they can do is nerf and buff numbers, and that doesn't change toxic things like Immob spam Druid, or Trapper Runes. And as such they can't hammer a specific problem, and add more power back into the Profession by reworking underused or mechanically weak parts. I've never heard of a balance team which isn't allowed to change how skills function, and this means if there are core fundemental problems in design which won't go away no matter how many times they nerf or buff numbers, they can't do anything about it because they are essentially unable to rework skills. Like jesus christ, I don't even know who to be mad at anymore. All we can hope for is when EoD is done, they can focus on reworking stuff that desperately needs reworking (Turrets, Minions, Underwater, problematic 300s traits etc.) But I know this won't happen, because they would be TOO BUSY BALANCING 9 NEW ESPECS WHICH ARE NO DOUBT GOING TO BE OP AS HECK.
  20. Well I have many things to say, so I'll just lay it out in order to address yur post : 1. Heralds/Revs never had one cookie cutter build. As much as Power Herald Shiro/Glint was prevalent, it wasn't the only Power build in existence ever. Core Shiro Jalis is just as potent and sometimes even more potent than Power Herald. The reason why it wasn't used as much as old Shiro Glint was because Herald was absolutely busted at abusing Incensed Response. Some PvP builds also used Glint Jalis instead against aggressive push comps. 2. Yu are using Jalis Glint, there is no Shiro Facet. 3. While yu have good Stability access, yur also extremely weak to corrupts. With a rising popularity of MM Scourges coming into both PvP and WvW, they will have a field day with yur Stability pulses. Having only 1 Stunbreak on a 25 cooldown then is going to hurt. Be careful not to get corrupted or yur not gonna have a fun time without Shiro's gap closers to facilitate bursts on the target. Losing Staff 5 loses yu a handy cleanse as well as a Block and an Evade+CC baked into it. Yu have to be extra careful not to get hard pressured cos yu no longer have a tool to buy time. I recommend using Sword/Axe and Mace/Sword btw. Sword/Axe work extremely well together because Axe 4 can be chained into Sword 2 for a devastating burst. This will also give yur Sword kit access to Axe 5's CC in order to inflict great dps with Sword autos. Mace/Sword work extremely well together as well if yu use Shackling Wave to first lock an enemy down before slamming them with Mace 2, forcing them to take the full damage ticks from the skill. Also remember, Mace 2 is a Firefield while Mace 3 is a Blast finisher. This means yu have capability to stack Might on yur own.
  21. > @"Dave.6819" said: > How do you fail to see that initiative system is as much limiting as cooldowns are? Id rather get cooldown system but be respected and buffed rather then being a shortbow5 bot. And even that was nerfed. We gotta thank to people like you that we get these treatments every balance patch. Soon we'll be gone from PvP just as much as we are gone from WvW. Yur welcome. Ini system is a scourge just as much as Rev's bloated skills with high Energy costs. I've mentioned before in many threads I rather Thieves have cooldowns and actual good skills instead of situationally powerful spam skills. > WvW though.. we are on another lvl? What are u on about? We get kicked from squads. If we were really "on another" level as you say we'd be wanted and we'd take up majority of squads. Just go to WvW. Join a commander and count how many classes there are and i assure you you'll either find 0 thieves or max 1-2 thieves in that squad. It has nothing to do with zerg play at all. They simply take actions way faster at higher frequencies thanks to Ini mechanic. Thief Shortbow 5 was the perfect example of this before it was nerfed : There is simply no catching up to someone who can teleport 900 range 3 times in a row tops with no delay.
  22. Thief deserves no respect in PvP/WvW. They function on another level due to not having actual cooldowns to punish their mistakes and misuse of skills. Now Thief in PvE however, I would love to see buffed, especially on the cleaving front. I don't like Sword Pistol and Staff being the only real options for cleaving. Would be nice if Dagger/Dagger 3 cleaved better for stuff like Fractals and Openworld mobbing.
  23. Just go the tankiestTempest build possible and start swearing in Map chat during matches. It's the most offensive Tempest build in existence.
  24. Thief got slapped pretty hard in PvP yea. I already said my piece in another thread but I'll repeat it here : Cost increase is not balance. It's just a lazy change designed to suppress and stifle playstyles. Thief gets slapped often by this, and Revenant also gets slapped often by this. It's honestly getting really disgusting how this is the only sort of balance cost related skills are getting. Like oh boy, just slap 1 or 2 ini cost, or increase cost by 5 energy and call it a day. Like if Inf Arrow was really a problem, why not BALANCE IT by reducing the port range to 600 but lowering cost to 5?
