Do you AFK during a match?

If It's clear our team is outmatched and 2+ of my team decided to afk, I'll wait in spawn, go out and dance with a member of the enemy team, or I'll ask them in chat if they're interested in a 1v1. Way I see it, it's better to accept the loss and preserve a more positive mentality for the next match rather than getting frustrated trying to win a 3v5.

Outside of extreme scenarios like that, I'll keep trying even if it's 400-0. I've seen enough comebacks to know it's possible. Especially when the enemy team thinks the win is guaranteed and becomes complacent.

This is why I never give up:

These are all recent games. Past few weeks. If you give up early, you don't have a chance to turn things around. Best feeling is playing a critical role in the turn around. Best moments in gw2 pvp these days. Can't imagine why you'd quit when it's hard, it's when it gets fun... Otherwise you're just farming pips.

Some games with quitters look like this instead:

Here, one of my teammates called the enemy a bot, enemy team game up, even though the early game was competitive.

I don't want to afk by respect of the others players, even if we take horrible teamfight or rotation, i will try my best.

And it's horrible to experience afk player, there is some games that are free win or games where the come back is possible, and the player is afking at the base, H O R R I B L E, i wish nobody experience that.

If you launch a game it's for playing not afk, it's like some people are missing the whole point of a game.

I didn't vote because the poll is missing:

5. I AFK only when I know for a fact that my team has absolutely no chance of winning.

I find that psychologically I tend to make this decision when an enemy team is approaching around 250 points. If my team is holding around 125 vs. the opponent's 250, I'll keep playing. But when the enemy is 250 and my team is like 80 points or less and my PUGs are rolling around in the bushes trying to figure out how their WASD keys work, yeah, sometimes I'll better use that time to AFK and grab a drink.

at a difference 300 u cannot really win anymore, i just kamikaze in then tho normally. cannot 1v3 against serious players anyways if the rest doesn't do their job.

therefore, still don't afk. might do it if we are at like 100 pts and they at 400+ ... it wouldn't even gone there if the one team did just totally not work. nobody should afk at 200 point difference earlygame though, that's easily flippable on many maps.

some people (also a bad behaviour with a very similar problem than the threads topic) also start slacking once they lead like 80 pts...

I wish there was an almost never option. I rarely afk but I've done it (can count on 1 hand vs hundreds of matches played and lost). Usually only when I can tell people on my team are trolling and/or we're very close to losing anyway. I have had rally matches before, so I'll go down swinging. But honestly, if you're a pip number cruncher, losing fast is probably more profitable than trying, even with the bonus pips for close matches.

EDIT: given the responses here, maybe they should change the cap to about 300 points so people are trying the whole time.

I NEVER AFK, regardless of unbalanced the match is. One time, my team from the get-go was 4v5...none of us quit and although we lost with less than 50pts, we felt in our hearts that we won. Never AFK...you may see it as feeding the egos of the other team who are unempathetic, but see it as an opportunity to improve. See it as an opportunity with how long you can last 1v2, 1v3ing them.
