  5. I just got flamed for playing Deadeye, because it does too much damage and needs to be nerfed. I hope this thread grows up to be a nice holder of cringe over the following days.
  6. If we judge the patch on whats in it, not what it's missing, it's actually a pretty awesome one. It only hit things which deserved to be toned down, the only change where I am unsure about this is the fullcounter daze reduction. Now if only we got these every 4-6 weeks right after the february patch... as we were originally supposed to. The toning down of overperforming leftovers is almost done, we are already seeing sustain nerfs. I expect one more round of nerfs on guardian sustain and some other stuff(trapper rune, pls delete), and after that i hope EoD will be close enough for the pre-patch. If not, god save us all. Anyway, stop crying this patch was good.

There is noone else to ask.
  8. Try playing PvP again. 1-2 years ago means before the huge downscaling patch last february. That patch changed everything, builds gatekept by the oneshot meta were finally viable, not to mention they did not tone down everything equally. So yes it is absolutely a problem. It wouldn't be without trapper runes, but in this current slowed down meta on demand bursts of _**stealth&superspeed**_ are insanely powerful.

  10. This is what happens when you force players into PvP in order to get something PvP players have absolutely no use(and care) for. All PvP could lose on this would be some of its prestige but... what prestige? I say go get your wins.

Even when raids came out, sometimes I was asked to roll hammerguard and prot the baddies in team who cannot dodge. Since PoF came out, the powercreep indeed left the weapon behind in PvE. It's still good in PvP though. If you enjoy landing the one hit that decides duels/teamfights, go play hammer mediguard.

That indicates that necros should not have any life force when the game starts. Getting life force from a skill cast before the reset is basicly an exploit. This is not a question of whether a necro is hard to kill or not, its a question of do you want your game to be consistent or not. It's a question of do you let people exploit bugs in competetive mode or not. I expect the PvP team to give full attention to this issue. I'm sure all 0 of them will work on this relentlessly until nothing happens because they don't care, there is no PvP team anymore.

  18. Whats the difference between DPS and roamer? In PvE you get to freecast, so classifying an offensive build as DPS makes sense, but in PvP - especially with roamer as a separate category - I don't get what role this would be. As far as I am concerned, the roles are: **Roamer** - as fast and as offensive as possible, not meant to survive prolonged focus. Roamers can often oneshot each other. Rotations and +1-ing fights is its job. **Bruiser** - this is what you called duelist. Mostly holds down a sidenode, its durable in a fight, and has some gimmick or deals enough damage to force others offpoint. **Support** - basicly a bunker healer. Some builds have more healing, some have more utility, point is it's mpossible to kill without focus, and has tools to keep teammates alive aswell. Whatever class you're playing, you take its toolkit and try to bend it to one of these roles the best you can. This is what gives builds variety. Everything is just an attempt at being a roamer, a bruiser, or a support. The best attempts (ease to play also plays a role here)are the metabuilds. Learning the metabuilds is useful, Metabattle and godsofpvp are both useful sources for that. Also people are most enslaved to the meta in middle tiers. People below that don't give a hoot, people in the highest tiers can pull off whatever they feel like playing. So dont go thinking every warrior is a healbreaker, don't assume every dragonhunter is condi (you can eat an 10K true shot), etc. Most of them are, but when you face the odd one out, you'll get stomped pretty fast.

  20. I hardly ever played PvP back then, but when I did I just spammed all my skills on cooldown, and still got the highest scores in almost every hotjoin match I ever joined. Nobody knew how to play back then. If we were transported back to that time, the most distgusting oneshot meta would emerge within 2 weeks.
  21. 2 man premades already make ranked unbalanced. Enabling larger premades would just turn it into an even bigger joke. Noone cares if solo players have the biggest rating gains when solo players never win vs. full premades. If you allow 5man premades, thats basicly making them mandatory. The top 100 spots would be occupied by those who can affort to have a static. Making a ladder like this 6 years ago would have been interesting, or a good start... but this is 8 year old game with a shrinking playerbase. I can tell you if ranked required me to invest in a team all of a sudden I would just quit. I imagine many others would do the same. Having a 5 man static takes time and coordination, and since GW2 has been really casual for most of its existence, the playerbase is not the kind that would just reorganise its whole daily routine to make statics.

It's a large corporation not a small indie dev team. If they wanted to devote resources to PvP they could. 1 or 2 people spending 1 day out of the week work over PvP issues would more than suffice. You're not operating on a dead patient. Also them working on EoD is not an excuse, it's a reason. I abhore how they just let the MMO with the best combat system rot away like this, but hey, I'm not the one giving the devs next months payckeck so... all I can do is **casually** boo from the sidelines.

How do you justify an easy access 66% speedboost when some classes are designed and balanced around being slow? Even if it's not broken currently, I don't want a necro running around with a 66% speedbuff. You want to play necro? Deal with being slow. I don't see problem with the rest though. I mean Resistance and Soldier runes are actually useful(unlike 90% of the runesets we get to choose from), so I get why some people are whinging about them, but they are not over the top. My point is, sometimes removal of a thing can be a good thing. Especially when the studio is working on the next x-pac and can't be bothered with reworks.

It was one of my main picks during the late HoT era, I remember how PoF dropped midseason (yes they released a whole expansion in the middle of a PvP season) and that was the last time meditrapper was meta. Scourge took over the area denial role, and there was excessive amount of stability and stunbreaks flying around. Not to mention reflects became common because of deadeyes. DH currently is underpowered. Go ahead and play power DH with Lynx rune instead of Trappers. It's definitely possible, but it's like playing staff ele or core engineer... of course you can but why would you? Do you hate yourself that much?
