I'm pretty sure you're aware you're making straw man, so why are you doing this? About the original rant, the "problems" of the system: I've seen none of which can't be explained by low population. Platinum players being put into high silver/low gold matches after 6-7 minutes of waiting is not something that can be fixed with your suggestion. Also it would just create a way to minimalise your losses even though you're throwing the game. Farming top offense/damage/healing is pretty easy if you tunnel-vision the enemy support on mid. You're absolutely useless, but you'll have 3+ topstats at the end if you manage not to die a lot.

There are several aspects of the meta renegade that are seriously overtuned but your suggestions touch on none of them.

My point is if you're the best player in the swamp of baddies, you are meant to hard carry your matches. There are not enough opponents on your level, so you're put in matches several tiers below you. And to average things out, the best and the worst likely gets in the same team. This is what it's like to be a high rated player in a dying PvP scene. I'm not saying it's good that things turned out this way, but there is 0% chance for any of this to change so there is no point of making entitled demands at this company. They are working on EoD and they don't seem to have time to care about things like PvP.

Boosting ele health would mean an elementalist can take a more offensive amulet, so you'd have to rebalance (basicly nerf) ele damage. And if you just raise the health/armor of squishies only to nerf their damage/sustain, all you end up with is a lot of standardized classes which feel the same. Picking a class would be just picking the color of your animations and nothing else.

  8. This would set a bad precedent. If thief can have different initative costs tied to elite specialisations, and mirage already has a 50 enudrance penality PVP ONLY... we'd be getting dangerously close to a situation where anyone could demand any change that would tore into whatever little consistency this game has left. You solve this problem by not having 8 initative skills in the game period. Partial revert is worse than nothing, because if a-net grants you this, why would they not partial revert grenade kit for scrapper/core engi etc.... and we'd end up with a game where everything is an exception, a special case, a unique situation, and learning the game would become a long and frustrating experience that way less people would want to do.
  9. Warrios GS 5 used to be totally unreliable, then they changed the code so now Rush is a homing missile. Couple that with the changes to chill/cripple no longer effecting mobility skills, and it gets really annoying. However it's not an easy fix, we reported this exact problem back in 2013/14, so this is nothing new. They are not bothering to fix problems which aren't completely game breaking so thats nothing new either... we reported a bunch of dungeon exploits back than which are still in the game. They "fixed" thsoe by making dungeons irrelevant... so careful with the complaints, they might "fix" greatsword warrior the same way.

Idk. It's not different from AT-s in this regard. I don't play AT-s either. Had a few attempts with friendlies, we had a few bye-s and curbstomps, then we got stomped. Not one match was even close to balanced. It was a sad mockery of what tournaments in GW1 used to look like, so I just stuck to soloQ since. There is a minimal population in the AT system because you can claim free rewards for even entering at this point.

Lets say teamQ is separated, even if all current pvp players join a team(which is definitely not going to happen, only a precentage of them), you'd get like 50 teams on EU, less on NA. If this change went through, I wouldn't play the gamemode because I know something like this would happen: I get into/make a team, we're obviously nowhere near to where we could be with enough practise, so we start Q-ing, and... first opponent is one of the top contestants of winning the monthly. We get curbstomped, but lets say we keep on playing... somehow most of our matches turn out like this. Because the veterans of the tournament system(those playing organised 5v5 for years) would stick to their own skill level while making teams, and Q-dodge each other for safe/slow rating farm. New teams would have a horrible experience, seasoned tournament veterans would be bored by lack of competition, and with players leaving (why play if it's not fun?) the gamemode would completely die out within a month or two. So sadly the "population is low" argument is valid, no matter how stupid you think it is. Until EoD releases, it's just slow decay for us.
  12. Ranger pets do not die, they cease to exist when swapped out/melded. To make stuff like Deadeye's Mark work properly on them, you'd have to do lots of coding, which A-net simply wont allocate resources to do right now. Only ever mark pets if you're sure the ranger is about to swap them out/meld with them. That way you get an instant recharge on mark and get a double proc out of your traits(boons, healing from mug etc). You're right it would be neat if marking a pet worked properly, but all you can do in the current situation is exploiting the anomaly. Because it won't get corrected before they release EoD.

I'd go a step further and say it needs minor buffs, because it's not really viable in high end PvP. To butcher an already weak spec because of a rune is the bad way to go about it.

Here is what we can reconstuct based on the logs: You walked up to a berserker(or he walked up to you), and you tanked all of its burst without dodgeing/blocking/stunbreaking, and in 5+ seconds you actually went into downstate. Anyone and anything should die to a full offensive meme build if they do not react for that long. There is nothing to see here, this is perfectly fine.

Below average mobility is one of the defining characteristics of a guardian. It's bad enough that you can compensate for it with a rune, now you want it baseline... classes are meant to be different. And like it or not, DH is a guardian.

  22. PvP is the worst it ever was, but thats because the gamemode is kind of dead right now. There is no matchmaking without players. Check back when EoD releases, even with way worse balance(I cannot imagine them releasing balanced e-specs after PoF) it will be better just because there will be huge spike in player numbers.
  23. I incurred anger directed at me many times for typing during fights, it's always done by players who literally stop playing the game for 15+ seconds to type out a 5 word sentence. Whats funny is that most players who complain about my usage of teamchat don't read what I write, they only glance at chat to see that I typed at all. I often have oustanding discussions like: **Me: "Playername don't go far you'll die!"** - The necro goes far and dies. **Me: "Stop going far"** - Necro does it again. **Me: "Nice meme"** - Necro stops right after jumping down from the spawning platform, not moving for a good 20+ seconds, then this appears in the chat: **Necro: "Stop typing and play noob classname. We're losing because you're typing instead of playing"** Which is entertaining, but also highlights that some people assume that just because they cannot type during gameplay, others can't either. Years of experience and superior mechanical skills let you type more often than not. A 3 word sentence takes 2 seconds to type out for me, its not that hard to find 2 seconds while autorunning or capping/decapping.
  24. So what happens if I converse in that subforum, but my rating decays because reasons... will my posts get deleted? Will I be unable to answer in an already ongoing discussion? Also what stops someone from buying a boost from a top player to post their biased stuff or outright troll? Not a bad idea in itself, but I can't see a good way to implement it. You'll have to settle for the discord.
