  1. I guess Koda follows the similar idea as a gendered deity as Ameyalli of the Jungle and Zintl the Sun. Wouldn't surprise me tbh. Although I do question why leave the whole gender thing for the Elder Dragons so convoluted. Why is Jormag suddenly a they and what not, when Primordus, Zhaitan, Mordremoth and Karkatorrik are pretty much implied to be males? I don't get it. Humans gods have genders, the spirits of the wild clrearly identify as something...Only the Eternal Alchemy and the Dream, _2 concepts_ are obviously not entities to have a gender. I suppose Jormag is special.

Ah and when a thief trashtalked me for "evading his fights" (I was zerging with a group) they formed a squad and invited me a couple of times lol.

Tell me, do you think that would be OP? I think such a change would make that skill mandatory in some people's minds. We fall down the same rabbit hole I guess. As in, a skill which doesnt bring much to the table, when Featherfoot Grace, Berserker's Stance and "Shake it Off" can deal with blind. Then again, wasting cleanses and resistance (which can be ripped) for blind is not optimal. At the same time, the scale in which thieves, engineers and even elementalists can spam blind on you is unreal. So maybe 3 seconds of blind immunity and removal of the condition per charge? I don't think that's OP. But to pump it up a little, lower SBS effect to 3 seconds as well and make it that _any_ attack delivered in that timeframe will critically strike. A single attack can be easily avoided unless you have been preparing some cc/immob chain to deliver it. But this idea may be too strong. > @"Arewn.2368" said: > > @"Grand Marshal.4098" said: > > > > I'd advocate for banners to fuctions similarly to Gyros. But I don't think the answer to that is to remove every thing that is slow. Everything you say makes total sense. The way I see it, Anet could go for either route. Depends on who they listen to when wanting advice for balance patches. Thief SB 5 got 'nerfed' in that sense. Warrior can have some pretty good mobility already ngl, but it's that the other classes can react faster which matters. Ideally banners as a mechanic doesn't change, gets an increased radius and maybe pulse something like Weakness (or movement impairing condis, depending on the banner, not damaging condis) once per 10 sec for 1 sec, making it a small field of protection the warrior can utilize. This can counter enemy brutally coming on you (which happens a lot rn, just pass through a warrior with enough condi and they die) and you don't have to necesserarily amp warrior mobility. But I don't expect such updtaes on Core and Anet will try to make up for it with some new busted espec. Well that may sound good for warrior mains, but I don't want the new espec to kill Berserker or Core more than currently.
  5. Well, we gotta make it through with the Marauder, the Sand Lions and the Saber Claw in WvW ig. Inb4 the next warclaw skin is yet another puke-worthy shiny recolour of the original.
  6. > @"Arewn.2368" said: > The banner change is pretty boring. While it does increase their effectiveness, the solution doesn't address how mechanically uninteresting they are. If anything it makes it worse by turn them into aoe signets, minus the active. > > I think proposed solutions should center around the banner's theme of area control. Right now that focuses on ally enhancement. But it could also, for example, cripple foes that leave the banner's area. > Mechanically this can be achieved by giving a debuff to enemies, and when the debuff expires they are cripple for several seconds. The debuff could be the same across all banners in order to reduce effect bloat. Could call it something like: "Banner's Challenge" Target is crippled for X sec when effect expires. > This would help keeps foes inside the effective range of the banner, would trigger even on foes who teleport through the threshold, encumber fleeing foes (help chase), give control over the effect's activation to the warrior (picking up the banner), and has good synergy with the typically close range style of most warrior builds and cripple traits. > The only thing to note is that there would be a short delay between leaving the banner and the effect expiring. I dont see that as a big deal though. I'd advocate for banners to fuctions similarly to Gyros. Using the banner adds it to your back (just the flag in an even smaller size, so you can fit 3 from utilities and 1 from the elite). Same effects, constant pusle of the banner ability and traited banners applying a unique boon: 1) Of strength: 3 might per interval (3 sec?) 2) Of Defense: Protection for 3 sec 3) Of Tactics: Regen for 3 sec 4) Of Dicipline: Fury for 3 sec 5) Elite: Either improved versions of the current boons, or keep it as is and add retal for 5 sec every 10 sec The possibilities are endless, but in a fast moving meta, stationary enhancement skills are usually subpar. Edit: or what Lan has written in the main page about banners.
  7. The most consistent thief trash talking I've seen people report comes from the SA guild. Don't remember their base of operation doe. But yeah, I got several screenshots of me getting verbally abused by another thief too . I simply don't give them attention and move on. It's sad how people get addicted over a game and try to score kills and play as amazingly as possible just because they want to prove some type of superiority. Just take your kills, shut up and respect your enemies. I for one had an amazing and long fight with a Holo nader (on core warrior) and when I defeated them, I bowed and told them thank you, I've never had so much fun in a 1v1 before. You don't even care about losing. As for rangers and thieves, their builds represent them. Permastealth, sic em soulbeasts etc. Means of securing easy and fast kills, but when your target them and start ganking they get salty.
  8. Do you guys think that Sight Beyond Sight can be somehow upgraded to be more useful? I'm not gonna lie when I say that I have seen 0 builds in any gamemode using this skill. The only time I used it, was with a Thetherbreaker build and "On My Mark" to find a perma-stelth Deadeye in upper SM.

My bad for not wording it properly, we downed him in the outside of the inner gate and were cleaving him, but he vanished and appeared at the stairs much to everyone's surprise.

Tank builds meant to keep the enemies on you for as long as possible. Very effective up until Gold 3 (highest I've reached in my sort PvP life, more of a WvWer).
  12. Well, it's not always about a class being 'meta', moreso the fact that warrior doesn't have the capability of dealing very big damage while also sustaining enemy fire. Glassy Berserkers are fun to play but against a team with a tempest for example, you will probably be the first to die. Just because I do not expect my teammates to support me, I usually run offmeta builds focusing on some form of team support. A tanky spellbreaker with a lot of boonstrip (WoD too, very good for outnumbered mid fights) or a Berserker with Might share and might heal. I run full tank in Berserker traitline, but I have a very big and long-lasting upkeep on might, which also heals me. This is more offensive than the spellbreaker build and I use the Battle Standard for rez. All in all, warriors with a bit of support can be unstoppable no matter if they are meta or not. But due to the simple fact that you can't expect for someone to support you, or escort you to another point when you gotta defend, it's better to train your power Revenant, weaver or something. I do agree though, that people play for their own sake. It's different to raid in wvw and needing to switch to a more meta build for your guild though.
  13. > @"Bazsi.2734" said: > I incurred anger directed at me many times for typing during fights, it's always done by players who literally stop playing the game for 15+ seconds to type out a 5 word sentence. > > Whats funny is that most players who complain about my usage of teamchat don't read what I write, they only glance at chat to see that I typed at all. I often have oustanding discussions like: > **Me: "Playername don't go far you'll die!"** - The necro goes far and dies. > **Me: "Stop going far"** - Necro does it again. > **Me: "Nice meme"** - Necro stops right after jumping down from the spawning platform, not moving for a good 20+ seconds, then this appears in the chat: > **Necro: "Stop typing and play noob classname. We're losing because you're typing instead of playing"** > > Which is entertaining, but also highlights that some people assume that just because they cannot type during gameplay, others can't either. Years of experience and superior mechanical skills let you type more often than not. A 3 word sentence takes 2 seconds to type out for me, its not that hard to find 2 seconds while autorunning or capping/decapping. lmao happened in my team. Core engi always went for far node, for the entire match. Our soulbeast called him out early on being a bot. He didnt answer. In the ending of the game I couldnt but notice that he did almost take the same path and always lost in far node. So I said "huh maybe they were a bot?", and then this comes up in team chat from them "yeah right, okay dudes, l2p first" needless to say with him losing far, our soulbeast stopping mid game and 3 of us left, we were decimated , just as I was about to his Plat 1 :'(
  14. > @"TrollingDemigod.3041" said: > Now, imagine how broken must be next e-speces to even "compete" with current kitten. The only thing I'm looking forward to with the new expac >:) Very curious as to what they will pull, how op the specs will be and how some specs which underperform rn, will probably be blown out of the water forever (as a warrior main, I believe that Berserker may never have a place in the roaming meta. No matter how hard someone tries to build it, so if something equal or _better_ than SPB appears, I'll know what that means).
  15. Im in Gold 3 and had some matches yesterday. In one match we had 2 daredevils in the team. 1 meh Renegade, 1 Druid and I played a tank Spellbreaker. Needless to say the enemies with 2 Renegades, 1 Guardian, 1 Thief and 1 Soulbeast obliterated out thieves so quickly in the side nodes I hardly had time to focus mid. Then said thieves camped spawn cause they couldn't do shit and I still tried to somehow fight until I forfeit myself. Next match, enemy has 1 daredevil and 1 Deadeye in the team. The deadeye camped mid and got downs and their second thief did a good job on decapping. We eventually won but I came to realize that many just don't know how to play thief. My team's compasition was the same except for the druid who was a mesmer and our Rev a power herald. I don't main thief in PvP, but it's pretty clear that there exist players who make the class work. But it's also evident that the class can't be played as easily as Power Herald so there's that.

If I am being honest, remove Aurene from the story and you raise the stakes even more! How will the tiny humans and co deal with those Elder Dragon beasts? How far will they have to go to find a solution in the face of doom? There, already a story much better than having a DrAgOn ScioN absorb Balthazar, eat Joko and be the weakness to Kralk. > > > > She exists to sell plushies and be the mascot of the game. Remove the dragon, make a story. Easy. > > Baby aurene is one of the most disgusting thing i have ever seen. It not the actual appearance (although obviosly not a baby dragon. Eyes got smaller when it grew larger, cause "logic") But the fact that, as you said, it's only made to sell with the cuteness. Which is to say: Working as intended. I doubt it will die though. At most it would just leave to an unspecified place to do...something, which would be better than having an all powerful being just conveniently be somewhere else or otherwise indisposed at the time the commaned need to do heroics, because if it is around and willing to act, it will just one-shot every threat. Ugh... And to make things worse, Vlast, a creature with a past (who didn't appear cause of Caithe having ptsd running around with an egg, which absorbed nearly all of Mordremoth's energy) was killed the moment he was introduced. Such a freaking compelling story of him being bound to this prophecy bs with him not being able to find purpose in it. With no connections to anyone. What if he saw our virtuous actions and wished to help instead? Cause surpirse surprise he is not invincible and he can grow as a character to come and realize those things via the PC and the Pact. But no. Kill the stupid dragon with one shot from weakened Balthazar and have baby Aurene tanking a powered-up Balthazar just because. I call major bullshit on the writers. Why even introduce Vlast in the first place? Ah yeah, to form an artificial moment of grief and sorrow for the characters who realize how shit the situation is, without killing off a fan favourite like Kasmeer, Marjory or any other Dragon's Watch member. Fooking Gorrik. Dude had a purpose, is by far the smartest asura with a whole thing surrounding him in not being a living creature anymore and having to deal with existential crisis while figuring out ways to help those around him. Not saying he didn't server his purpose well in Ls4, but he was by far more compelling than any other asura scientists we know off rn. His death even felt meaningful cause he actually mattered (so as I said he worked but could have been much more).
  17. Aurene kinda Mary Sue. Unless Anet pulls a fast one on us and make her fall to Jormag momentarily, it will be pretty clear that she cannot be manipulated, is immortal, will most probably absorve the majority of Jormag and Primordus' powers and that's it. Her only meaningful reason for existing has been dealt with (and it was mediocre) so with no purpose to serve she now exists as an 'ally' who is invicible thus far and overshadows the efforts of tyrians. Remove the dragon, make a story. Easy.
  18. only issue Ive come across is: bunker remains on node and the enemy is outnumbered mid, but they focus well enough against our team and the guy we sent to get the first point goes to battle the bunker, making mid equal and when some people don't cooperate in your team, everyone dies. Once the enemy has the point advantage it's very difficult to turn it around with 2 nodes (mid being a warzone etc.) Just wanted to share my stuff. Last year I was a lot into pvp. this year im more addicted to wvw so my opinion doesn't rly matter.
  19. > @"knite.1542" said: > @"Dawdler.8521" > > Not exactly related to the OP, but what is a combo whombo weaver.? I'd imagine our colleague refers to sword/dagger weaver duelists who deal some pretty nasty bursts (if you are standing still). Not very sure on combos' exact meaning as most eles (I also play ele) run fresh air for spike damage.
  20. Not gonna ask for more than what we will be given. Decently Balanced especs that won't blow subpar specs rn out of the water entirely. As a warrior main, I want a duelist spec for my class, but at the same time if that's not what they go for, I hope that Berserker will not be forgotten entirely (it already sucks as a roamer). The rest I don't really care for. Some thief ideas on assassins drew my attention and for Rvenant an evil legend.
  21. I actually hate SUpport Spellbreaker in WvW, so instead of running shouts, I go full tank and stay around for the strips. I see more use in being a power warrior who strips boons than a splash heal warrior who dies if the enemy pushes too hard. #GoPower , trait strips and you got a warrior who is in the frontline and has no issue with it. Better strip 300 boons than fart some 3k heal. Warrior duelist for next espec. I can only hope.
  22. Final Chapter, Primodus rises to the surface and Jormag flies inside a storm of cold and ice. As they prepare to fight one another, Menzies the absolute unit arrives and fights Primordus to force him undeground and sap some of his powers, while Grenth jumps in from the mists and restrains Jormag. Anise has given the Commander the Shining Blade and Lazarus' soul within it directs the energy of the dragons to the remains of the Bloodstone, so they go back to sleep. Grenth winks at us and leaves and Menzies chills in the Ring of Fire praised by all the races. Lazarus is still alive in the shining blade and we are rdy for Cantha. Not bait, legit 100% info from inside the studio.
  23. _Sword/Dagger Warrior *clown*_ just kidding. Is this for WvW or PvP? If not go anything you want. I'm not very sure on PvP, but I sure am for WvW. Daredevil Sw/Dg if an infamous power build with a lot of disengage potential. I recently tried a shortbow trapper druid with Sw/Dg and damn, are these plenty of evades. I'm not an experienced ranger so others may play better with this set, or think that it's trash. Then there's also Sw/Dg Weaver. Classic piano training.
