  1. do pro sports players get rated based on volatility or deviation? no, cuz that would be idiotic. they get rated based off of their actual game stats.
  2. what do people even mean when they say aoe. any attack that hits more then 1 person lol? cuz thats basically every gw2 skill, i don't know how you couldn't notice that. to me aoe means it has a radius and a duration, and no, those aren't spammed (in team fights all you gotta do is walk off point). exceptions are renegade and most guardian builds.
  3. YES, NERF SPIRIT WEAPONS. i've been waiting my whole life for this thread.
  4. teleports are absolutely garbage design. they completely bypass the kiting mechanic which is there for casters and ranged to survive. if you don't understand this then idk gl i guess.

Just because it doesn't perform the way you want it to so it's a strong choice in your criteria doesn't mean that's a good reason to change it. If you want hammer to be a choice for you in PVE ... change your thinking about how you play the game. You're going to dismiss that anyways ... but it's true because in this game there is a range of performance and that means something is the best ... that also means something is the worst. It's not a reason to buff something. It's just a consequence of the choices we have available to us. > > See, you don't use a hammer because it doesn't work for you ... and that's OK ... but it's not a problem that needs to be fixed. jesus i wonder if you ever have moments when you hear yourself.
  6. that sucks man. no matter which profession you play, i think everyone can agree this game is not going down a good path.
  7. they broke zeal and never fixed it. justice charging twice as fast is just plain idiotic.

  9. so does anyone have a reason to play heal rev over druid other then dwarf? ventari got massively nerfed and i'm pretty sure druid out heals them now, not to mention they don't have to worry about the crappy tablet and energy management.

I'm sure it'll improve your own gameplay dramtically. alright smart guy. what if there is someone on point? you've just wasted a dodge. what about if the traps aren't on point but a random location that everyone walks by? what about wvw? what reason is there to have invisible one shot traps? i'm dying to know.
  11. the best is when the dh leaves a full trap bomb on point then walks to the other side of them map and kills you when you try to cap said point. cuz skill boys.
  12. > @"Blood Red Arachnid.2493" said: > snips yeah i see what you're saying. doesn't make sense to say professions are weighed unevenly if all professions get the same compensation but w/e. what do you think about the 15k hp base for all professions idea (should be 2200 armor base too imo), do you think it could help with this learning curve?
  13. tooltips that aren't a multiple of 60 should not be recognized.
  14. > @"Blood Red Arachnid.2493" said: > Lets cut to the chase and be straight with people. The real question here is "Should Anet balance a profession in PVP around peak performance, or average performance?" This is an old question. So old, in fact, that I remember it being discussed when Grouch was nerfing engineers over and over again because he was an excellent engineer player who would body the competition regardless. I don't think we ever got an answer. > > Personally I say we should balance around peak performance, for a couple of reasons. Number one, the people who care most about balance are the hardcore players who can afford to put endless hours into practicing their profession. Everyone else below that level has different concerns, like learning how all of the professions work and how to navigate the U.I. Second, good design at the top tends to trickle down into other modes, whereas broken design at the bottom tends to ruin things the further you go up in the skill ladder. Third, you can't tell someone to work around broken design at the bottom because those problems will be magnified at the top, but you can tell somebody at the bottom to git gud, because that is when their profession will start to shine. whats the difference between peak performance balance and broken design at the bottom? i think i understand what you're saying on paper at least. lets take head shot for example. bad players spam it and waste it, but anyone with middling skill can shut out any other skill with high cast time. so yes, better players make better use of it obviously, but its also kinda broken if you can get that much shut down potential with one skill. same goes for shadow shot, it shuts down all kiting and mobility. same went for the old 3 ini sb 3, the best sustain tool teef had. on and on for all professions. imo its better to balance all professions around average performance and balance general gameplay around peak performance. professions should be easy to pick up and fun to play so new players will want to play them. general gameplay is kinda already there except for some outliers which will always exist.
  15. outnumbered increasing target cap, huh interesting and novel idea. would be cool to try it for a week.
  16. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiABw2x7lNwsYTYl44KZ36A-z1YYvghJmPpHKigKAfnF/2sA-w thats what i would run for support if i had a choice. mantra is a nice lil 5k heal. get paired with a divinergade. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAEx7lJwuYMYl4oal2cB-zVZYBKGyXUpAQBnJxQJY7coPDA-w damage, get paired with divinergade again. decent boon strips and damage.
