Ruined armour and bandages

Would it be possible to start seeing armour in the game which is ruined, damaged or bloody. This would allow players to create looks of battle worn armour, ruined by constant combat, or even bandages.

Imagine a heavy armoured top with a gash down the side and bloody splatters mixed on the edges. Not only would this add to the immersion of the game, but also give players an alternative look to go for.

Another thing that I'd also like to see, is the Shrine Guardian Headpeice having 1 ear missing but covered with a blooded bandage in its place.

**TLDR:**Alternative armour skins showing battle damage and the addition of bandages to be worn in place of armour parts.

I don't think there are, or will be armors like that. I mean, considering anet just keeps pushing out more glowy garbage, we can conclude that it's really popular stuff. Only some weapons, like the axe revenge and the dwarven weapons look damaged. Maybe there are others but these are good enough for me.

I'd honestly love to see damaged armour being able to be used by the players, we have way too much glowy rubbish in the game. Some of the armour is already in the game as damaged (pact soldiers are all rocking it currently, Some DR Serif soldiers also have bandages on mixed in with their armour.

The other part I hope for is less bulky armours (most of the gloves have about 2 inches of material around the wrists) It is so hard to find gloves that look good due to this bulkyness.

I really do hope with EoD, they do not create skins with partical effects on, or any more new BLTC skins with glowy effects, The reason why I do not want anymore skills that do this, is because of this: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/1372432#Comment_1372432

They did make something like that with the lunatic armor https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lunatic_armor the medium one even has 2 versions one clean and one bloody.

Strange they didn't continue with that, since most of it would be just retexturing of old armors which would be fine as rewards for this living world season since they are phoning it in anyway till the expansion comes.

I'd very much like that. It's true there are a few skins that look worn but nowhere near enough. And I'd really like to have a ragged version of as many already existing sets as possible. And (if I go totally wild) maybe even two versions - slightly worn and totally ragged.

Heavy and medium armour has some armour with minimal damage visible - like the worn scale armour which is identical to the crafted scale armour but less shiny and more scuffed, or the privateer medium armour which has ragged edges and sleeves hanging loose. But it's pretty subtle, the worn heavy armour can be disguised with dye and so many skins are asymmetric that I'm not sure how noticeable rough edges are. I don't think there's anything like that for light armour.

It would be nice to have 1 armour set for each weight which looks noticeably damaged, for role-play or themed characters. I don't think it needs a lot because I doubt there's much demand for it, but it would be nice to have the option.

As an example, this armour is already in the game:

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/f/f1/Wounded_Soldier.jpg

A simple addition of the damaged pact armours would seem fitting to the game. Allowing players to pull off the looks fitting to the area and theme they want.

This would give the world the Grit it needs, what was taken from LA can be given back in armour.

I'll grab some other pictures of stuff that is already in the game, that could be easily be provided to the players for use in game as well.

The problem I see with that is the only 'damage' visible to the armour is that 1 sleeve is missing. There's a lot of armour with mis-matched sleeves, pauldrons etc. already available so I'm not sure it would really look damaged so much as just another asymmetrical one. It looks odd there because Logan's wearing it and we're used to him wearing the full set, but if you put it on a player and swapped out the gloves and boots I'm not sure it would look any more damaged than things like the [barbaric](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Barbaric_armor) or [scallywag](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scallywag_armor) armour.

If we're going to get a damaged set I'd prefer one with pieces which are torn, dented or visibly hanging loose rather than just missing. Otherwise I don't think it has the same effect. Maybe ones with mud or dirt on them too.

But we literally have this armour in the game right now:

Players can not use it but NPC's wear it, this would be such an easy start to providing damaged armour to the players. Battle damage shows a sign of experience. A hero with no damage was either standing at the rear of the lines or a poser.

A good fighter will never have clean armour after battles. Blood, dirt and greece will coat the armour.

Glancing blows will happen, scratching or causing minor damage to the armour.

Also, tell me, have you never been hit in gw2 by a mob, like ever?

Or can afford new armour, maintenence or repairs. It's reassuring to know your managers aren't pennyless hobo's and that there's enough in the kitty for the rank and file to get paid every week.

Still, more options are always nice.

Anyway this is digressing, more armour skins big plus. More choices for the player to make, more options for players to really make it an RPG.

I cant see a reason to say no to skins that are already in the game.
