I don't think they ever went into detail about why she does it, but I'd bet [Matthew Medina](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Matthew_Medina "Matthew Medina") had something to do with it. He likes going barefoot whenever possible in real life and in games and I believe he's the person the invisible shoes were created for (after he repeatedly asked for a toggle to hide shoes and was turned down).

Kasmeer already admitted, that she wears no clothes and the "clothes" we see are an illusion she creates. Maybe that was inspired from the royal nudist Jena look?
